Just wanted to confirm that I've successfully connected to my valence 12xp batteries via 12.12 and a microsoft surface 6 pro. Any the discharge counts are insanely low, SCORE! Thank you to brassmonkey for the guidance.

Project goal, 75% self sufficient. I am aware that I'd need a boat load of batteries and solar to run 100% off the grid. Truth of the matter is, I'm usually always on 50a shore power. In those instances where I'm really really in need of extra power...
Goal, 75% self sufficient.
Current situation:
50amp shore power
5500watt Onan genset
Factory ATS switch with auto genstart
3 rooftop ac units
4 138ah valance 12v Batts
I'm 90% of the time hooked to 50amp shore power. With that being said, a $340 power bill each month sucks too.

If you had (10) 230w solar panels (48.7 voc / 5.99 isc) how would you configure them in regards to victron smart charge controllers feeding a 12v battery bank.
A: 5 groups of 2 series, and (5) 100/50 victrons
$1619 total. Most hurt by shading losses, a lot of wiring
B: 2 groups of 5 series...
If the used solar panels you were looking at buying had mc3 connections, how would YOU make extensions to get to the junction box;
A: crimp the correct mc3 ends on the new wire
B: buy mc3 to mc4 adapters then crimp mc4 on new wire
C: cut the mc3 ends off and crimp.mc4 ends on panel and new wire
Anyone running 4 Victron mppts?
I can comfortably fit 8 of these panels on my roof
Thinking 4 sets of 2series, hence the 4 mppts (100/50s)
Any downsides? I see the battling issues multiple victron mppts are currently having and no publicly announced solution.
