Looking for guidance on liquid cooling home

    water temp change per pound per Btu gas 212f to 212f gas = 970.4 btu liquid 32 f to 212f =1 btu liquid to solid 32 to 32 = 144 btu solid below 32f = 1/2 btu

    Store temperature in ice?

Your only partially correct , the newer units measure the fan speed (load) to determine the defrost cycle . This way it includes all the air temp and the humidity levels . The evaporator temp goes sub zero F degrees . My addition would put another heat ( water) exchanger between the compressor...

    Big ole batteries!

A 250 amp at should only use 40 to 50 amp at full power at 230 V single phase. It sound like those batteries have a lot of useful life left in them . You have a choice to sell and buy a smaller bank or invest the extra in equipment for the experience with them and might only last a couple...

Great find , you need a 250 amp min fork lift charger. You should be able to pick up one reasonably . And they are recyclable.

    Store temperature in ice?

You are correct on regular AC units m But heat pumps are designed to go below freezing to get the heat out of the sub 32F air. As long as you don't change what Freon the compressor was came with, It will work. Modifying the unit will void the warranty any how, but I did not specify the...

    Store temperature in ice?

Your looking at this like a refrigerator freezer , water expands 10% in the process . In the freezer you're freezing the water from the outside in . if you freeze the the water from the inside to the outside , no isn't any outside wall expansion pressure , other than the water itself . As for...

    Store temperature in ice?

    1btu per pound degree F ---- 32 water to 212 144 btu's per pound -- 32F liquid to 32 F frozen 1/2 btu per pound --- 32F frozen and below A 2000 pound chunk of ice (250 gallons ) if used for 8 hours , that would be equivalent to a 3 ton unit. A RV wouldn't have a weight problem , but a space...

Would you bother with solar on this roof?

Unless you have a clear area already , Those trees around you provide a lot of cooling effect and wind damping in the winter . They will provide more kw's of savings , those panels ever will and their free. A panel on the roof for a backup battery power would charge up the backup in a week...

Using solar generator to power Natural gas furnace

    The 15a circuit is a continuous 15a( @1800 watts ) , a 1/2hp motor continuous draw is @ 375 watts of the total 880 watts , but 5 x 375 =1875 watts during the start up cycle 1875 + ( 880 - 375 =505 ) = 2380 start up watts . Most HF inverters won't handle that being 1000w rated capacity .

Anyone Use LTO for a Starting Battery?

The voltage regulator on the outboard has a chance of malfunctioning but you can use a 9a DC to DC to charge the LTO's also. Once the LTO is charge up from the alternator it should be 14.4v and no more will flow or voltage rise if the regulator is working properly.

    Silicone sealant

The acid based silicon sealer works for 40 years+ , how ever do not use on live circuits until it has cured for 24hrs. Acid conducts electricity until has cured . The only thing that it cannot handle is gasoline . It eats the bond to what ever you stuck it to.
