DIY Portable Power Station w/ MPPT

Good eye. I'm going to watch it with the victron software with a cutoff temp, and see if it needs breathability. I have two other generators in Ryobi Link boxes, one with dual 120mm 12v fans pushing and pulling with a temp start/cutoff, and one without. The one without, has not needed airflow...

DIY Portable Power Station w/ MPPT

Love your component choices. I built something similar. Needed to find a use for the Victron since it would work feeding my home office with the load outs. Jag35.com 18650 modules with 70 x 18650's for a battery.

How worthwhile is the bluetooth option?

As soon as I post this, something will happen to my setup, but... If you are lucky, as I have been, or maybe choose the right vendor(and be lucky?)... maybe it's non-issue. I've gone from making my own batteries, to just buying the first brand I tried, as I've never had an issue with them, and...

    Half price electric cars

I bought it for my son. Paid $6k for it and it's in great shape with nearly 70 of the original 84 miles of range.

    Half price electric cars

Our leaf has lost connectivity, it will be awhile before the Lightning does, but the Leaf functions fine. We have a Bluetooth app that tells us just about anything we need to know about the car and battery, people have built a similar app for the Lightning.

    Half price electric cars

Well, one of the higher mileage F150 lightnings at 93k is showing only 3% battery degradation. Brakes degrade slower, tires, 20% faster. What we don't know, is what the life will be of the motors. I guess if you don't take a shot at it, you won't know. All I know, is that I won't be paying for...

    Half price electric cars

It's going to be a slap in the face when China blows past the US due to doubling down on EV's and renewable generation. Moving away from reliance on imported fuel, and an eventual cleaner environment and increased better health outcomes, will be an insurmountable lead, added to the lead already...

    Santan solar deal

our 10 x 360w longi's from santan are producing over 3.1kW peak times now 100 feet on 8awg to an EG4 6000ex. Wasn't expecting only 15% loss from used panels. Our new panasonics on the roof with enphase micros at best produce 4.6ish on the 5.4kw system. Just had a one day production record of...

    Electric cars

Our 3.6kw, 10kw batt, EG4 6000ex, EV charging specific system is doing pretty well, a couple months in. We used used panels, Powerqueen LiFePo4 batts, and a refurb EG4 inverter, and I have to say, it’s doing everything we hoped for. We work from home, so we don’t put a ton of miles on, but have...

Victron is Over-priced Eurotrash. Why would anybody buy Victron over an AiO?

One thing. I bet the guys that designed the Pontiac Aztek get together every now and again and probably have a few and mention, “Yeah, we could have done better…” I wonder if they guys that designed the VeDirect cable connector conclude they could have made that assembly more robust, as it’s...

3.6kW off grid EV charging system for our Ford Lightning w/ Agrivoltaics and single axis tracking

Blew out a new record today. Cold day, perfect sun. Previous highest output was 16.3kW, and hit 19.5kW today. Added 55 miles to the Lightning today also a new record.

    EG4 6000ex unexpected overload fault code 07

I think the 6000ex lists a minimum ah of batteries of 300ah.

    Ideas for weatherproofing EG4 Hybrid - 6000EX

I've built an off-grid EV charging system with an EG4 6000ex- 48HV. I'm thinking of mobilizing it, but also moving it outside. This is Central Texas with the associated high heat. I'm concerned it may overheat, even when pushing only 2500-3000 watts to the batts/EV. Then there is building...

Signature Solar Experience, Bad or Good

Ultimately, my refurb 6000ex from them seems to be perfect and is performing flawlessly. When there was some confusion about neutral to ground settings/configuration, they responded. Got it for half of what they we're initially new, so, three months later this purchaser is pleased. Nearly 200kW...

Who is still building DIY batteries

six total, two in the shed that have been going for close to two years, running a 9k btu mini-split, and now these 4 for the truck charger project. We'll likely add another 4 here by March. I don't have to tell you all, how much time it saves. Just checked prices, and it looks like they are up...
