OK. So so all day had a constant 30+ amps coming in. Its 5Pm and still some good aftersun sun. 12+KWH for the day.
It did go past that 53.4 that i "felt like" it would go past. Ended the day with 53.9. I guess these batteries were just very very thirsty.
I love this forum. You guys are great.
Sometimes i feel like i have no one talk to about this kind of stuff. Prolly because i live alone in the jungle.
Will post a pic of the Frankenstein setup.
Just made my first LiFePo4 bank to replace old FLA. Its 48V. 16 500ah 3.2V LiFePo4. With the Ant BMS (that will did the video on). Outback Inverter charger and Outback flexmax
So all the batteries were pretty much the same voltage upon arrival 2.285-2.296 and together they were 52.6.
Connected...

Heres a little tour video i made of the setup.
I've got 3600 watts of panels. that produce 12-15Kw a day.
10kw is about what i use daily. So i'll see how much it charges tomorrow with pure solar.
I'll post the details tomorrow
set Absorb to 58 (3.65*16(-minus a little to be safe) and time to 1/10th of an hour (6 mins)
The float to like 56 (or something) will check again in the morning.
Couldnt find the Rebulk settings in the Flexmax, but would like to set that
So this BMS doesnt have instructions matching what they sent me.
Sent 4 tiny temp sensors and the only available port that it could be is this prewired harnass with 8 Red and Black cables.
I thought most of the time the temp sensors had R G Y and you chained them together.
Do people think I just...
Is there a clear king of the large batteries?
Im tired of diy lifepo4 and shitty chinese bms and looking to spend some money.
That will handle heavy abuse/use.
Can handle Low % dod. Or at least protect itself
20khw +
Handle big peaks and valleys of usage. (I host large groups and times where...
3 years old bank is 16 x 3.2V lifepo4 500ah. connected in series to make a 48v system.
One cell is bloated and had 2.6V, so i took the bank half apart and connected that battery with another battery in parallel to try and see of it would equalize.
The BMS says its 300Amps.. My solar max pulls 40 and generator i think can pull like 20-30amps. And the biggest load i got is like a 20amp pool pump. So highly doubt it would ever even get close to 100amps.
Cool, should be fine that way. The cables arent that beefy, but can prolly handle...
I have some nicer looking systems on the property. But they all work good, so no reason to post about there.
Now im gonna order 4 of these batteries to replace and have spare.
Thanks for the help
I'm about to switch out my dying FLA for LiFePo4. I bought the Ant Bluetooth BMS will did the video on.
I sometimes run the generator to keep them charged And the outback inverter also charges.
Can someone confirm that the BMS will be able to handle the two inputs? Or am i better off just going...
Thanks for all the replies.
This Cell is dead. And the system is now down.
We have paying guests coming in a few days expecting to stay at a place with power.
New cells from china would be months away. I am way out in the middle of nowhere mexico.
I have 2 good 400ah cells. This dead system...
Anybody know how to power this on? They mention needing to connect it to a battery in their "documentation". But this model doesnt have a port for power, their documentation shows that it just comes with powercables and you connect it to a small battery to "Boot" it
The 500ah are some black ones with no name..
The 400ah are the winston. I have another system with those. So far no problems. Are there bad news going around on the yellow winstons?
the bms says its 200Amp and then has two 10AWG cables sodered on to EACH of the +- poles. I'm gonna have to unsoder those and soder on 2 beefier ones. One for CC and one for inverter charger
Have a bloated cell with 2.6v in the bank
Connected in parallel with a good cell.
Generated extreme heat at the terminals Disconnected quickly and bloated battery now at 1.9V
Its fully dead, right?
Part two:
I have some good 400ah cells. Could i put one in its place to hobble that system...
Battery capacity is 500ah.
What's the residual battery capacity? If I set it lower than 500 it changes the % SOC on the screen. Does this affect how much it actually let's charge
Would total circulating capacity be 500*16 batteries?
