I’m a newcomer and never worked with electricity - so looking for a simple answer. No Transfer Switch right now. Currently, I plan to use my 6000xp as outage back up. I have no panels. Scenario: power outage, string some extension cords to power fridges/freezers, internet/wifi, some strings of...
Knowing this is an old post, here goes… the goal zero site, in Q/A’s at least, say you cannot from-in replace the AGM with lithium. I have a 1250 we bought 10 years ago when I couldn’t wrap my head around any of this as a DIY. It has served us well, although I have replaced the AGM, and added a...
I’m sorry folks. After many posts read, 5 USB cables, 2 cables matching the one in the original post, SA shows nothing, and doesn’t see the inverter. I started SA with the 6500-ex and 1 battery in January and it worked fine. Mine is just set up to be power outage back up for now, no solar. I...
I have a similar question - I have a pair of panels, Suniva 260w, Voc=38.1v., 9.08 amps (Isc) 8.6a Imp. I’d like to use one with a 10-year old Goal Zero Yeti 1250, max input voltage is 24v, max input 200w. Is there a product that could step this voltage down so I can use it?
That makes sense - since the unit's fans are near the top, it's creating the draft through to pull the heat. I think I can work with 75 degrees if it's at one end of the cart. It also might cause an issue with warranty if not in compliance.
Thanks so much for responding!
I didn’t find an exact matching post, sorry if this is a duplicate.
Really a newb on electrical and solar components. I have a Goal Zero Yeti 1250 lead acid that can only accept 200w, 24v max. From an old DIY from someone else, I have 2 Suniva 260w, 38.1 Voc 8-9 amp panel. How can I step down...
I’m new so my logic is likely not complete or sound, advice welcomed. I purchased the EG4 6500EX-48 and 1 EG4 LL battery, for now. Staged goals are based having a portable dual fuel generator w/ propane (1000 gal tank) and hook up
Power outage back up for food refrigeration (Several), some...
Thanks for the help! When I moved in, I had a sub panel installed on a 100 amp breaker for my garage wood shop, currently 2 double pole for 2 240v receptacles, 3 20amp for outlets on 3 walls. Pic attached. I’m only just understanding home electrical, and it’s always scared me ?. But I’ll...
I am currently running a 6500-ex, using a Raspberry Pi and solar assistant. The pi is connected by usb to the inverter. Is this possible with the 6000xp?
Well, have to admit I had the same question bottom line: what did I do in June? Bought for a power back up for outages, luckily not had to use it yet. Had plans of building around it. Now I wish I’d saved my money, or perhaps bought an ecoflow or competitor to it. I really feel I wasted money...
Tried searching, sorry if this is repetitive. I just purchased the 6000xp. My approach must be slow in that I’m starting ONLY as a power outage back up with just a 6500-ex and 1 LL v2 battery. My 6500-ex was laying horizontally on a cart on top of just one battery. No panels, no transfer switch...
Dumb question: is there any 1 post that has info like this for newbies end to end? Have I just not found it? This is why when I could afford it I just bought a Goal Zero 11 years ago - no fussing. Can’t afford it these days. Sorry for the whining.
Some were asking about knockout size. I posted this after receiving my 6000xp on Saturday. Be sure to see the images posted in answer to mine, as it gives actual sizes (as I understood it)
Knock Out size and size for Cable Glands
I may still try the swap, but my gears just grind trying to follow the work, and I’ve never been one to mess with electronics or electrical equipment. I know my breaker box, and an electrician’s number. I have the 1250 - which I agree is a legend. I bought 2 systems that year, the GZ and a small...
Thanks a bunch! I just purchased and fumbled through an EG4 inverter and 48v battery for emergency back up, so the cost will be in line after I catch back up. Hope I can call on you a couple months down the road.
