    Off grid/On Grid Hybrid system

Thanks, the extra info helps explain part of it ... but I still don't get the left column ... KWH ... the numbers don't seem to corelate. Either way, it's a great result. How long have you had the extra solar, because it seems like a pretty low useage.

    Off grid/On Grid Hybrid system

Congrats on the achievement, it must be a great feeling. I must be missing something with their graph though ... the numbers don't make sense to me. So for May 2024 you used 2.7kWh ... or 2.7 x 10kWh ??? :)

    Breaker vs Battery disconnect switch

I wasn't aware they made them. With a quick look I can only find them up to 250A ... do they make 300A or higher? Only need up to 60V ... not 150 or 300. Certainly if I can get one it will kill two birds with one stone. It was fitted in series with a 300A DC breaker to add a remote...

    Breaker vs Battery disconnect switch

Haha, I'm picturing a metal weight on a piece of string ... with the weight stuck to a tiny electromagnet. Cut the current to the electromagnet and the weight drops ... pulling down the cct breaker. :p

    Breaker vs Battery disconnect switch

Yeah, I always think of that too when I turn one off ... so little force needed to make it click off.

    Breaker vs Battery disconnect switch

Exactly ... same conclusion I had come to.

    Breaker vs Battery disconnect switch

Understood, of course you never want to have to switch them under load if possible. Having said that ... I'm running 48VDC and not 320 ... so that should buy me a few extra cycles ... and my 300A fuse should blow at some stage before it gets to 2,000 amps.

    Breaker vs Battery disconnect switch

Yes I agree. In my case I have a standard large 300A DC cct breaker, along with this solenoid in series ... and under normal circumstances I turn off the AC output from the inverter ... then switch off the DC supply via the kilovac. These solenoids are used widely in the EV industry and...

    Massive Texas power outage

Wow, you're a lucky man. That's the sort of thing I do, but not always lucky. :)

    Massive Texas power outage

I can't see how they are attached to the I-beams ... I assume they were otherwise they should be in the next state by now. 😁

    inverter repair

That's very surprising to see something as detailed as they have provided. Only thing missing is an actual circuit diagram. Certainly very helpful for anyone working on that particular inverter. Unless I've missed it, you still haven't said what brand and what model your inverters are. A link...

The next thing? Inverter or Battery? All in 1?

Haha, thanks very much. Thanks :) The inverter design is by Warpspeed who's here on this forum. There's a thread all about the concept here. I built the inverter and wound the transformers etc over the last three years with lots of guidance from Warpspeed. There's some threads about it over...

The next thing? Inverter or Battery? All in 1?

Here’s some of the things I wanted in an inverter and you guys have mentioned a number of them as well. The idea of having all the switch gear inside the inverter was attractive to keep it simple and neat … and avoid lots of interconnected boxes on the wall ... and the bare minimum of...

    Warpverter

I have read all that I can find ... but none of it mentions the parameters that I saw online while connected to the history of the actual inverter I bought. That's where I saw the 253V maximum figure. Wish I'd at least screenshot all the settings. Frustratingly I can no longer even find the...

    Warpverter

Yes. Agreed Haha, very good question. Definitely, me too. Yeah ... so how do I find out? Ask someone who knows? Where do I find such a person? Read all the setup data and somehow interpret that? What if I simply wind the Warpverter output up to 253 and see what happens? Am I game? 😁
