So, I started my small 800w (4-200w) adjustable ground mount. So far so good. The initial inspiration came from Tech4U by James (YouTube) and later a very similar style by Rodney Hunt (YouTube). I also got some helpful tips from the forums own 420hmsPA. The system is straight forward but I had...

Well, slowly but not so surely, I finally got the panels mounted and I'm happy with it. Now I have to figure out the wiring.
  • Post in thread: How long can you (and your family) survive if the grid went down for an extended period?

I was part of the 2021 Texas blackout. My house is all electric and I lost power for 5 days and had two water pipes burst. I was not prepared at all. One thing I never thought of was having plumbing supplies to make repairs (copper pipe, fittings). When I could finally drive the roads, the...

Good looking setup. How did you secure the strut to the 2x's?

After reading lots of comments on the forum, I want to purchase an IMO DC disconnect. I want to be sure I'm making the right decision. I have a ground mount with 4-200w/12v Rich panels and will be wired series-parallel. Based on the panel specs, I think I should get the IMO SI32-PEL64R-4S. This...

The thing that I don't have a clear understanding about is the "maximum system voltage" of the panels which is 1000VDC. The dc disconnects seem to be rated at 600, 700 or 1000VDC so I'm assuming that I need a 1000VDC disconnect but not certain.

2 series/2 parallel. I was planning on having 20A inline fuses on the 2 positives before the Y branch. Then to a disconnect.
