Another thing that's kind of weird in the RV world is the charge voltage. A lot of the 12v batteries list 14.4-14.6v as the recommended charge voltage. Just seems so high. I was commenting that people could charge much lower and another member corrected me and said he owned 2 batteries where the...
Im on an RV forum and people are saying their batteries dont start balancing until 14.2v for a 12v battery. At that high of voltage, doesnt that mean the battery will spend less time balancing? Is there a reason the BMS doesnt start balancing at 13.8v or 14.0v?
What a great post. It might have been your 5555th!!
When you do the microwave trick, has the converter been powered up for several hours and been sitting in 13.6v mode?
I think it might be time based. When you first turn the non-Ad model on it attempts 14.4v constant voltage charge. If the amps exceed the maximum rating it drops down to 13.6v and holds that for something like 12 or 20 hours. That could be what happened on your bench test. It happens to me all...
Learned so much reading here and plan to build or buy a battery bank for a trailer. Ive read its good to charge at 3.45v per cell. Why do places like LiTime sell a charger thats up at 3.65v? Does it come down to the specs of the BMS used whether the cells are able to balance at the high voltage...
Did you have to drill out the connectors to fit over the threads? Seems like nut is not sitting flat on the connector but instead hitting the area with wire.
Also by long term storage, are you saying these will only get used in an emergency maybe once a year?
Unfortunately for the price...
Might end up buying from overseas they sell a 4 in 1 Pro Version. Havent found that yet in the states. If you buy 4 the price goes down a few bucks and free shipping after 2.
They have lots of resellers in the USA listed. Started searching a few. Nobody seems to have the 4 in 1 pro yet...
Im a little surprised how their more expensive models do not measure air pressure. I see how the more expensive models have more accurate sensors installed. Thats cool.
During dusty summer months i try to maintain a positive air pressure using a hepa filtered 4" blower. I also like to use the...
Searching around for info on the Ruuvi sensors. Do you guys who own the sensor like it and the app? Or should i look at SensorPush or a different brand? I dont have anything Victron, yet. On a different forum i read how the Ruuvi sensors can talk to Victron. So im close to buying one of the $39...
Would like to get a Victron smart shunt. Currently have flooded batteries on a trailer tongue that get exposed to rain and dust. Eventually will switch to lithium and move the batteries to a dry location. Been looking at the 712 but i dont believe it comes with the IP65 500a shunt? Does the IP65...
Sounds like a cool spot. Sure down the road you wont want a fridge or AC/heat?
When you look at your example of a 4000w inverter at 12v you can see why going to 24v or higher helps with wire size.
If you have a blank slate and no current 12v items i would go 24v and something closer to 2000w...
Its amazing what moves and what doesnt. The tail end of my toyhauler will launch stuff into space.
While the kitchen sink area is more centered and balanced and an empty cup wont move.
