Lifepo4 voltage drop recently

Hello RV8R
Thank you I can use all the help I can get here.

Well @Echo Dawn ,,, My Experience ,,, It will be like drinking from a fire hose 😳

Tons of knowledge & very experienced members here. I typically like @sunshine_eggo posts as he stands out to be very knowledgeable ,,, but there are many members here that are very experienced.

If you have an electrical schematic of your RV system & can post that here then a huge piece of the puzzle can very quickly be “on the forum” for future help or suggestions.

I typically find factory RVs substandard for construction in general but also electrical systems. The good news is they can be improved upon. I typically look at the “Marine” industry ,,, sometimes the aviation industry for “better specs”.

For DIYers, I think the typical issues are caused by “bad crimps” or “bad connections”. Sometimes from an incorrect design. Sometimes from lack of knowledge “ like BMS are liars” 😁

Do you think if I hit the reset button last night when it reached 14.4 V that I would’ve woke up to a different state of charge this morning according to my BMS?
Other words I would’ve been at 92%, and the right voltage?

Yes, I absolutely agree. I found sunshine ego to be very knowledgable and began the road to recovery of understanding. At least a lot of things here and there were others as well. Everybody’s helped so much. I’m very happy about that.😊

I REALLY appreciate your input RV8R‼️

Ok then 👍;

I am going to post my opinions here for you ,,, I am a hobbyist not a professional & consider myself a novice ( but that does not mean I have zero experience or knowledge ).

So I am not being critical here, but want to shed some light on when I see;

I have seen switches that look like these that have burnt or melted on the Internet. I don’t buy these style of switches and have no experience with them because I’d buy blue sea switches. And usually 4 way switches ( they are $5 more than a 2 way & can be very useful );

There is a big difference in “switching” AC & DC ,,, This video demonstrates the differences very well;

I will inspect my switch and definitely be upgrading things to a higher standard. However, I’m just trying to figure out the BMS issue right now.

I always isolate my battery whenever I charge with AC
And confirm this on the app that SOC is static

Awesome stuff RV8R
Did you catch my last couple questions there a few scrolls up?

These questions ?

The short answers is “I don’t know” & there are more knowledgeable members on the forum that would be able to give you a proper answer. I will leave that setup & monitoring suggestions to those that are experienced at it. My Vans & Cabin so far have used AGMs & no BMS.

My guess is yes ,,, If you hit the charge point of cell balancing for the required time & reset the BMS, I think then at that point in time the BMS is recalibrated.

Further it is my understanding you have been “under charging” your LFP battery & LFP like to be stored below 80% SOC ( opposite to AGM ), so if you are concerned about damage over the 5 months operating ,,, I do not think you have an issue.

The testing for “loss of capacity” can be performed, & someone knowledgeable can walk you thru that, but I don’t think from what I have read on this thread you have any issue.

It is disheartening that “Alberta Lithium” was not very helpful for you. I’m assuming they want to sell batteries and equipment and restrict their involvement with customers past the sales. I understand, but I was expecting a better detailed performance spec or a manual at least “on-Line”.

I have purchased Rolls AGMs. Rolls is another Canadian battery company. Here is their manual & specs ,,, much different than Alberta Lithium as an example;

Yes, those questions. That’s OK I really appreciate everything that you have given me.
We all have our strengths and getting stronger at other things in time.

This reset button on this new app is really messing me around. I’m hitting it at the wrong time and not hitting it at the right times lol.

Yes, very poor showing and they try to make it sound like everybody just thinks they’re awesome and have amazing customer service but it’s all about sales and they are not helpful at all with troubleshooting or newbies like me looking for solid answers about everything and they get quite nasty actually and it’s been very heartbreaking.
