EG46000xp inverter question

Hi, I'm entering the solar world with almost no experience. I researched and settled on the EG4 6000 xp split phase inverter. My question is, in order to communicate between batteries and inverter do I need to use EG 4 brand batteries?

You shouldn't have to. But....

Question for you though. Since you're new to this, what made you decide that the 6kXP was the inverter for you?

It seemed to do everything I needed it to do. More or less plug and play. Just install batteries and go. Unless I'm missing something?
