What would you do if you can spend $10,000

This is just a hypothetical. If you got a $10000 grant, what would you do with it? It has to be solar or energy related.

Would you get a bigger battery? Put a down payment on a Tesla? A couple of mini splits? A large generator? A wind turbine? Geothermal? Reinsulate your house? Paint the roof white (apparently it’s a thing).

If I had $10000, I’d get a full rack of batteries (Ruixu or EG4) and then as many solar panels as I can get with what’s leftover.

Batteries need to happen for us weather we have 10000 dollars or not. 10000 dollars would mean we can buy lithium batteries from the store as opposed to making them myself.

does buying stocks in POLARIS RENEWABLE ENERGY INC count? 0.80c / share dividend. Canadian dollars. Passive income for the win

More batteries and another GS8048A. Because reasons.

Or, if I got it and already had the new homestead, I'd get a new SCC, pallet of solar panels, and supplies for a ground mount.

Spend 10k on top of my current investment or starting from scratch? I could go a couple of different directions depending

From scratch, I’d buy 2 SRNE ASP inverters, 64 280ah-304ah batteries, and a pallet of panels from inxeption or a local wholesaler. I’d open a credit card account to fund what I couldn’t with the 10k for miscellaneous parts and panel mounts.

At current, I would buy a 20ft and 40ft shipping container, insulate them both, make the 20’ the power house and workshop and mount panels on the 40’

Or I’d just buy a cheap EV

My electric bill averages in the $70 range a month year round. The $10k would get me off grid, but I don't think it would be worth the aggravation of becoming my own "grid". Now if I could spend the $10k on my hotrod that's different.:fp2

Maybe you can spend the 30% tax credit back on it.

You could do something solar/energy related so that you would save $10k in the long term and then spend that on your hotrod.

They've been using Chinese LFP cells in its cheaper car models at least outside the USA.
I thought all LFP teslas sold in the US had their cells come from across the pond.

Either way I’d much rather have LFP vs Li Ion powerwall attached to my house.

I had the same question.

Similar thought process. I'd go with 3 ASP to have a spare.

I'm torn on the container or building something out of cinder block and steel roof for the power house.

10k down and pay for the balance of the loan in fuel savings while pocketing the extra every month.

I could also go a completely different direction and import a pallet of AIO's, flip all but 2 or 3 and use the profit to buy batteries, panels and minisplits.
