Preparing for WW3

Sure if the goal is to end the world as we know it but my understanding is an emp would come from an upper atmospheric detonation and even fallout would be limited. The emp would be meant to cripple us not destroy the planet. The only good thing about armadillos is you can kill them with a club.
I need your advised of how to catch one? The animal control has been trying to catch it for almost 8 months and no success.

Well the last three I just walked up on at dusk (one at a time) with one of my Jack Russells tagging along and clubbed them with a piece of rebar. They ain't real smart. Watch out though because they have a tendency to jump straight up about 2' when whacked. ;)

Oh yeah and they carry leprosy.

Thats what animal control told me to stay away.
Exactly and that's why I don't touch them with bare hands or let my dogs mess with them. The only good armadillo is a dead armadillo. I'd get tired of armadillo meat pretty quick knowing all that. They've been on a north bound migration out of Texas for the last 50 years or so as the climate heats up.

Seriously ?
If an EMP (Non-Solar) hits you or your area, you will have much more serious things to contend with.
Safe Home/Shelter, Food/Water & Life Essentials will be the priority 1st & foremost.
Put your Solar Gear etc into a SeaCan and use that as a Faraday Cage if your that concerned and have a need to do something even if it is just something to make you feel better.
But I want to watch my reruns of America's got talent!!!!

Well everyday we are getting closer to it.....

My wife and I are thinkers...what do we need to do to have power after an EMP (Electro Magnetic Pulse) that fries electronics. We are fine now if we lost the grid forever.

My biggest worry is my hybrid inverter and needing it the most of everything in the house....should I by a spare or just have a spare off grid inverter?...

We bought our steel garbage can yesterday with foil tape to put all electronics in if we do get a heads up that an EMP is coming...

All the other electronics aren't really needed. Phone's only work if there are cell towers, which they will be gone. My micros I could get along without. My charge controllers I could string panels to directly charge batteries if needed.....wife would likely want a spare Keurig....hahah

Anyone else thinking about this and have ideas? It is horrible what is going on in Ukraine.....so sad....
Even if everything works out great for you, within weeks you will be wishing you were amongst the dead!
No thanks I would certainly rather die in the first blast than have to be defending myself daily against groups of people who want my stuff.
Unless you never sleep, stay in a bunker 24/7 and have unlimited Ammo and a small task force of men to protect you then it's just a matter of days before someone takes you out with a hunting rifle and takes whatever supplies you have. Humans are fine so long as they are well fed and happy.

I live 50 miles from Fort Hood... Don't have to worry about EMP or much of anything else... Russian missiles are not known for accuracy, so I am guessing at least one will hit my back yard. As long as the EMP kills the electronics on the guy's car that keeps driving up and down my street revving his motor at random times it will not be a total loss.

Absolutely this. When you really think about it, you definitely don't want to survive it. It's just a TV inspired fantasy to think that you could live without society for very long. People could live, but just living isn't enough

At last report, Russia has slightly over 4700 nuclear weapons, which vary in size from 200 Kilo-Ton to 800 Kilo-ton. The US has just under 4000 and vary from 200 Kilo-Tons to 1200 Kilo-Tons......does anyone really think there will be an survival on the planet?

You guys are all preparing for what is now called (not a joke) 'conventional' nuclear weapon attack. The thing is this has changed.

Russian doesn't just have 'conventional' nuclear weapons, they have this one basically called by NATO Doomsday Torpedo, the Status-6 Poseidon torpedo.
200 km/h range of 6,200 nautical miles and payload of 100 megatons. They are colbolt 59 tipped and cause a radioactive tsunami.

Simply put, there is absolutely no survival or any signs of life for minimum 100+ years after use. It is also theoretically possible that just one nuclear bomb anywhere on the planet that is salted with enough colbolt 59 would eliminate all life on the planet.

The entire premise of surviving this isn't even a thing. Don't worry, they updated ready.gov... social distance and wear a mask. Don't forget to kiss your ass goodbye.

Ya know, you can make your own directional emp and share it with your buddy in the hot rod. Your neighbors might give you a ?

EDIT: It would have to be a solar powered contraption, in keeping with the forum.
