What's in a title?
I forget which site I downloaded the APK from (using on a cheap tablet I didn't add a Google play account to), I searched duckduckgo.com for Overkill Solar APK and sideloaded it.
I also installed the play version on my phone (Oneplus 6T) and it works fine.
One of the BMS's shows the manufacturer as ABCD, the other JBD. I wonder if the overkill JBDs show Overkill as the manufacturer?
My BMS from Overkill Solar shows JBD as the manufacturer.

In the xiaoxiang app, my manufacturer is shown as DGJBD.

Same in Overkill app (it works!)
I sideloaded from overkill solar and it is a nice app, always on the look out for a new free version.
Hard pass on paying anything to the apple store.

Hmmm I couldn't find the apk on there site yesterday, kept redirecting to play store.
I'll likely order my next BMSs from them as a thank you for the app.
It makes no sense to have to kill an app if it released the BMS. BLE doesn't claim a device, the connection is made as required.

It works on my phone but not on my Chromebook. On the Chromebook it sees the Bluetooth dongle but will not connect to it. Location services are turned on.

There has to some common denominator here for those of us that do and do not get the app to connect.
My 4s 120 amp BMS were purchased in 2020. I wonder if the app only works with newer BMS.

Can you use the sun fun kits app on JBD/overkill bms I tried scanning did not get anything...
Same, but I bought the apple one for $6.00 so it already does all, good for those on android though, not sure why they went with those dark colors.

Have a JBD and couldn't get it to work. I picked it up second hand, so it's probably at least a couple years old.
The older XiaoXiang app shows that.
I changed the names of my BMSs. Is that what keeps the new app from working?
