diy solar

EG4 Chargeverter

I’m here to serve. ? ….. and from a new member even… I’m on a roll.
I’m sure every member would like to say it but don’t want the hassles.
That would make history with the longest thread on this forum all to someone that likes hearing themselves bit.. instead of good diy info helping others out which is what this forum is all about.

So far so good....... great packing, not sure what others are winging about (as in winj, not WING like chicken)... haven't hooked it up yet.... waiting on my fire insurance increase to kick in.. HA.. joking.... too busy but looks good... I wish ALL the stuff I received was packed this well..... GREAT job Signature Solar..

You all know I'm not shy to b*tch when I see something wrong, I did it on the first order.. but I'm equally fair on the opposite and so far, without powering it on, with ordering, shipping and timing, as well as packing, I could not have asked for better, thanks team. Thank you again @Will Prowse super happy with your recommendation, make sure you get the appropriate commission/affiliate fees, I would not have purchased if not for your guidance.

@SignatureSolarJames

sounded like you were stalking that box like a velociraptor...

I wouldn't be one of the members involved, I appreciate @Jennifer and the comments she makes and info she shares. I think people get way to butt hurt way to easily nowadays, that's my b!tch about the matter.
People like her aren't afraid to make issues well known in the community by speaking up with how they really feel.

I'm concerned by the specs that state 100 amp capability however they recommend 30 amp continuous and 85 amp max charge.
That's just saying they recommend 30A max charge (per battery) on their rack batteries (100ah).

As for the recommendation for 85 amp max in the user manual, they say that's to keep the heat down, one of their reviews mentioned a fair bit of fan noise from the tiny fans so probably to avoid too many user complaints. No warranty stipulations I could find about running it at 100A (assuming you have the battery bank to handle it).

I believe that has more to do with the fact that electronic components are rated for the highest current/voltage they're expected to be able to generally hold against, but tin most cases the thermal dissipation rises with the current or, worse, the square of the current. At maximum the component gets kind of hot. A higher end tier one device is often, but still not necessarily, designed to run at full capacity with reasonable heat dissipation, however even there, it's common to have power supplies that mostly need to put out a smaller load, but occasionally cover surge loads that will get excessively hot on a full spec load.

The CV warning against thermal dissipation at 85% load is disappointing, but not entirely out of line, especially if it's still engineered to properly dissipate the heat, but might have excess fan noise and heating of the space around it when at full capacity.

For anyone in the north, however, as long as the CV itself is designed to properly function with full lifespan, that heat is just a lessening of the load on your other heating system, and the times when you need it are also usually the times you need heating in the first place. All in all, sounds like mildly annoying, but really not a flaw in the unit.

I’m glad you appreciate her belittling members because they don’t know a lot about solar and that they can’t “search” and find the answer they are looking for.
I search forever and can’t find the answer but another member posts it like it’s no big deal. It frustrates me but I keep trying.

I was LOOOKING, almost BEGGING for a reason to complain about the item... but they let me down. LOL (actually I didn't want any "it got damaged after it arrived garbage thus the filming of the c-section).

Where did the zip files go?

Never give up.
I told a member to search for something yesterday then felt bad and followed up with a reply / answer.
You'll see, over time, it's frustrating seeing the same things posted repeatedly.
I put a particular member on ignore and my forum experience returned to normal.
Fortunately I haven't had to ignore anyone, yet. I've been temped a few times but try to appreciate everyone's opinions regardless how far they get under your skin.

Getting this back on topic, a recent utube videos covers the fix for loose connections, sorry if it was posted already this thread is tough to keep up with.

I have several people on ignore. I don't pretend to think everyone deserves my attention. If other people have me on ignore I assume they came to a similar decision concerning me.

It is no different in real life. There are those you don't associate with. Sometimes not due to any real fault they have. Reminds me of a lady lawyer I consulted with at one time. After about 5 minutes of conversation concerning the issue I got up and said good by. She asked why I was leaving. I told her that I did not feel I wanted her services. Total different world view and no point of connection.

120 or 240?
Ensure both units are fully seated.
Just reading that now…sorry I did what I hate others do…not reading all the way to the end. I’ll unscrew the 20 some odd screws and report back later. Love all the help we get here. Who needs tech support when we have us?!?
