Very cool! Great job!
I doubt any of us will ever get there....It's a long and slow process.
But, I'll get there eventually. Assuming that I ever reach a point where I think I have enough. lol
Take lots of pictures of the install! The first HotSpot mini split arrives today.
Pictures will come later. I'm currently also remodeling around the system. But, I may crop some in for now. Of just the units.Take lots of pictures of the insinstall.
Yes, there's about 3" between the panels and roof. You getting enough airflow under those panels?? I read where they suggest at least 4 inches of airspace to help cool things down for added efficiency.
No it's 48v DC. Running directly from the batteries. Is the MiniSplit running from (2) Growatt 5000 ES units? What kind of additional load are you seeing?
Very interesting. Looking forward to seeing more details over time.No it's 48v DC. Running directly from the batteries.
It hasn't pulled more than 500w so far. It's a variable speed compressor and fans. It spends a lot of time around 100w to 200w.
Mini splits are pretty amazing. I'm gonna bet you're going to see a major reduction in power consumption along with quieter and probably more stable temperatures. Can't wait to hear how it does with the near freezing temps. It's replacing a 1500w space heater and a 2000w window A/C unit. Both were running on the inverters.
WHOOAA BUNDY……..cool..5.5 kw solar
Growatt SPF-5000-ES
Auto transformer
One server rack battery (so far)
Peak solar output so far was 4k.
