JK BMS Deal AliExpress

They are already shipping to Vendors and a few have limited quantities available for shipping.
It also appears that the larger screen "is it" for now...

The Raspberry Pi 5 is out & available (pretty impressive) and works Solar Assitant and others.
Raspi's can use a CANhat or a good CAN->USB adapter to interface with the JK's.
Thanks for the info. For my first BMS I decided I didn't need to pay nearly double for the inverter comms version which will prob need some tweaking at least firmware wise. Bluetooth will be fine for this pack.

Are we talking about the JK BMS "inverter" version or something else?

Yes, Inverter Edition. I am changing my existing packs to them and building my last 3 packs for my home with them as well.
I have a couple of pallets coming with cases, BMS' and cells + a few other goodies. I'm finalizing out my own residential system now and moving on.

What inverter will you be using with the new JK BMS for comms?

I will continue with my Samlex EVO. I have a developers NDA with them, so I have the ModBus, CanBus protocol stacks, all going into a Raspberry Pi.

Time to get back to your Regular Programming

Does the Heat+CAN option deliver anything extra in terms of comms over the "base" version?

The heat part, gives you a relay to control a battery heater.
The can part, changes the communications protocol to can.

and referring to non-"inverter" JK BMS since all the inverter versions have relays on them.

The SA site says they support the 3 and earlier models, not the 4 or 5?

"All other Orange PIs, Banana PIs, Rock PIs, etc. are not supported."

Just to be safe, wouldn't the Orange PI 3 LTS be best to connect to the BMS being offered in this string that I ordered?

That's where it got too confusing for me. And why I chose to just buy the preloaded options. Yeah, it was more expensive. But I knew that it would just work.

Really makes me question my decision to go down the road of expensive contactor BMS when tim's out here buying 7 fets.

But I'm only looking to build a couple pet banks, not a herd of cattle.
It seems like the risk of the mosfet BMSs letting the magic smoke out is when it interrupts a significant load? So if the system design reduces the chances of such an event happening, risk may be more manageable.

I have seen mine disconnect a 400a surge.
Maybe I just got lucky. But it done it 3 times in a row. lol
