MPP Solar LV6548V 500v is not a "Hybrid?"

ok thanks , I had a strong feeling my idea was boneheaded since I posted it.

Ha! Solar soft porn. I'll send pics.

MPP Solar LV6548V 500v is not a "Hybrid?"

I never anticipate wanting to give power back to my local utility. However, I was somehow under the impression that in an off grid situation, the "bidirectional" power flow capability to the (now absent) utility is nonetheless potentially useful, but I'm having trouble seeing how. Is it just...

MPP Solar LV6548V 500v is not a "Hybrid?"

Okay, thank you timselectric, it appears to me this unit can do everything the hybrid models can do: push power to grid and/or batteries and does not need grid to function, but I could be wrong.

MPP Solar LV6548V 500v is not a "Hybrid?"

Hi, I'm trying to learn about this model. Does it not have the built-in capability to combine multiple energy sources and same level of flexibility and integration as a hybrid inverter like the HYBRID LV 6048? Thank you.

LiTime 48V Battery Balancer For 24V/36V/48V Battery Bank

Great important 'nuts and bolts' stuff, I can't thank you enough! And tinned copper cable for marine applications? In a sense, all my applications can be considered marine since I live on the water in the inner banks of NC. Water is salt brackish. Tinned anything else? The 1/4" x 1" copper...

New LV6548V 500v, reliability, standby consumption?

The circuit boards for paralleling the units... which must come pre-installed on those. On the LV2424 hybrid they had to be purchased separately.

How many parallel kits necessary for that? Thanks.

New LV6548V 500v, reliability, standby consumption?

Thank you scoharri. That's great to know. 4 in parallel? Are those the 250v mppt input? I saw mentioned in other posts in the "solar vendor corner" section that the newer 390v and 500v are not as reliable as the older 250v. Also increased standby power draw. I have not done my homework on...

LiTime 48V Battery Balancer For 24V/36V/48V Battery Bank

I see what you're saying, but regarding these big mobile 12v battery banks, I was gonna use 2/0 cables from each battery to the battery bars (2 bars per battery bank, one +, one -) and connect from the AIO (mppt/inverter/charger) with a 2/0 cable to the middle of each +bar and -bar. Thanks for...

LiTime 48V Battery Balancer For 24V/36V/48V Battery Bank

ok thanks Tims. Thanks robbob. And thanks for the wiring suggestions for safety and robustness. Really. I'll probably have more questions about that. I've bought a lot of 1" x 1/4" pure copper flat bar to make big battery bars for big 12v banks.

LiTime 48V Battery Balancer For 24V/36V/48V Battery Bank

Thank you timselectric. No time to be the balancer myself, since I've got my hands full trying to be the Buddha. :giggle:;) Okay, "mitigate," sure, but does a quality active battery balancer "solve" the battery imbalance problems going 4s4p w/ eg, 230ah 12v LiFePO4s, making them essentially...

LiTime 48V Battery Balancer For 24V/36V/48V Battery Bank

Thanks a lot robbob. I've already got the 12v batteries. I had originally planned to use them 4s4p for 48v, but decided to stick mainly to 12v battery banks b/c of potential imbalance problems. They are new, unused as yet.

LiTime 48V Battery Balancer For 24V/36V/48V Battery Bank

Before I go for a permanent install at home, I want to outfit 1) a 34 ft cargo trailer, 2) a 40 ft 5th wheel, and 3) a good size boat with solar panels. I have a bunch of rec365AAs. I already have two 24v inverter/chargers (AOIs); I'm planning on getting several 12v AOIs and several 48v AOIs...

LiTime 48V Battery Balancer For 24V/36V/48V Battery Bank

My understanding is that series connection of 12v LiFePO4s like these for long term use even with good battery balancers is not a recommended practice because of battery imbalance problems.

LiTime 48V Battery Balancer For 24V/36V/48V Battery Bank

Hi Thanks robbob. I have 16 230ah LiFePO4s that I'm mainly gonna use in 12v battery banks, but keep 4 of them for other configurations. I am not ready to buy 24v or 48v batteries yet, but a large bank of 48v batteries is the dream, ultimately.

LiTime 48V Battery Balancer For 24V/36V/48V Battery Bank

Hi Tim. I recall your comments about battery balancing issues to be aware of when putting LiFePO4s in series. I'm gonna use most of these 12v batteries in12v banks, but keep 4 of them for occasional use in series for 24v or 48v banks. Only occasional use with regular disconnection of series...

LiTime 48V Battery Balancer For 24V/36V/48V Battery Bank

I wonder if anyone has any thoughts, warnings, comments about using this product to balance LiTime 12V 230Ah Plus LiFePO4s? And it's true this Balancer can be used to balance 24v banks of these 12v batteries, as well as 48v banks of them? Thank you! (ps, I would provide a link, but I don't...

New LV6548V 500v, reliability, standby consumption?

Hi I'm thinking of getting several of these for use as single units individually as well as paralleled for a large array, as well as some kept as spares. At one point this was Will Prowse's favorite AIO from MPP Solar. Still I wonder? Any comments on reliability, idle power consumption, or...

    LV6548V 500v for $815

Hi Lt.Dan, I'm thinking of getting two of these. Can you or anyone say any more about reliability? Thanks. Edit: This was, at one point, Will Prowse's favorite all-in-one from MPP Solar. I wonder if it still is? Thanks.

“Break free of 4S4P” w/ Multiple Battery Banks?

I am a know-nothing novice so I hope others will answer you, but I had a similar question about higher amps and BMSs in the context of exceeding parallel recommendation limit (4) for my new 12V 230Ah LiFePO4s. See thread below. But in my case, just 12v, no series connection, like you...

Is it possible to harvest and store enough solar in summer to carry you through winter?

Yes, I won't even mention my hair-brained imaginings for storing compressed air. All I can say is, never gonna happen, but dreamers dream.

Is it possible to harvest and store enough solar in summer to carry you through winter?

Pitched roof here. But in attic? And as a thermal battery and home heating? (But what about water leaks! Good for fire suppression, I suppose. Ha ha Do clogged gutters count?

Is it possible to harvest and store enough solar in summer to carry you through winter?

Yea, you'd have to scale it way up, and in cold climate drain water from upper reservoir from deep enough not to freeze, and possibly use power to heat the exposed lines, etc. It rarely freezes that bad for very long where I am, but it's dead flat. I've thought about a water tower but limited...

Is it possible to harvest and store enough solar in summer to carry you through winter?

Pumped Hydro Storage. You could dig any size ponds/lakes you want. Scale it up enough and the OP's seasonal storage becomes feasible. I would love to just have enough pumped hydro storage for just a few cloudy days, but, alas, it's dead flat where I live, and mounding that much dirt for an...

Would you charge 12v LiFePo4s with these chargers?

Okay. Amazon return... when it gets here. I really appreciate it sir Sandals! Nice turn of phrase. Speaking of hammers, I've always been more a natural at demo work than construction, and maybe you just prevented me from more!

Would you charge 12v LiFePo4s with these chargers?

I'm planning on getting married to Victron, just one last dalliance? Is there a wry-face emoji? But seriously, I hear what you're saying, and i'm gonna go with Victron I think for multiplus IIs etc. . And come to think of it, maybe chargers are the very last thing to skimp on, since batteries...
