Never used Tesla so can't say. Inverters like the 18kpv can shift the frequency up to slow down or turn off the micro-inverters. Called AC Coupling. Also the XW Pro 6848.

Hi all, I'm confused about this 1:1 rule and the size of my system. I have 18 400w panels. But each has an IQ8+ on them. So max output is 1.21a x 18 = 21.78 x 240v =5227. So do I use 7200 or 5227 in the calculation?

Before I found this site, I had an AC Coupled system installed. It has micro inverters that output 100%. When off-grid, you add an AIO that can control the "other inverter" (micro inverters) by changing the frequency, up or down. When power is not needed shift frequency up, when needed down to 60.

One way of testing is to go out to the garage and turn off the main breaker, if the house stays on it is a separate system. The basement should be off.

Do both 200A services go through the Main panel in Garage, or does one go straight to the Old Main? Is the main breaker in the garage a 200A or 400A?

When you are grid connected, the AC Coupled circuit can put out all the power it can produce because you have the grid to feed back to. If the grid is down, your inverter will produce the frequency needed for the AC Coupled circuit to run. If it produces more than is needed it could be a problem.

Does your inverter frequency shift? If not, that could hurt your off grid inverter.

I only have 3 so not an issue, but, I thought the 20kWh was per battery. EG4 and others sell 6 battery racks so the issue would be wide spread.
