Thanks again with your big help that make me learn! In the description of the J1772 adapter at the bottom, You can read this: "Note, this adapter is not suitable for RV use due to the absence of a neutral connection on the J1772 - it's intended only for appliances that don't require neutral." I...

I know that it's not a charger, and I have mention it in my above post. I just want a option for when I need to charge my battery and that I'm on the road and I'll able to do it for under CAD 500$! BTW on another subject, I've take a look at your Vanabolt on TheSamba forum, nice job! (y)...

From the description of the converter quote: "It is a very useful device for camper vans and RVs. Van dwellers who want to plug in to electric car chargers to charge their batteries or operate appliances can easily do so now. " And it's CAD 300$. What wrong with that?!

If I'm right, I think I have found just what I need to charge from EV Level 2 public station! https://www.evseadapters.com/shop/en/ev-chargers-charger-adapters-extension-cords/183-83-j1772-ev-charger-power-converter.html#/54-condition-3000w_model_new And any charger that can plug in a regular...

I'll live in my van 12 month/year so I can't simply forget November, December, January! I don't say an absolute no to solar, but I don't see it as a viable solution for me now.

Big thanks RV8R for all the time you have take to give me all that clear and quality info, it's really appreciate! 7.2 KW EV ,,, I don’t know, but is that something you want in a T-4 ? I think that I prefer that than solar panel in Canadian climate, and we have thousands of EV public station...

The 240V to 12V/24V charger of the guys in the video output 100A from what I understand at 3:18 of her video. But he have 24V 300Ah battery, I don't know if or how much does it matter. I still need to learn more about electricity!

First build this summer, Canada, VW T4 lwb, 48V 100Ah or 1x 48V 50Ah now and add another later too be smoother with my budget build?

The first year, I’ll have access to the AC from where I’ll do my build so I only need DC for led, diesel heater, water pump some computer fans… if I don’t miss anything and for that I can go with a Li Time 12V or 12.8V 100Ah and a fuse box and keep the cost around CAD 500$. And in a year I'll...

Thanks a lot for your answer! I have see on YouTube some people who have use the EV public station to charge the battery in their VR and that was working. The best info I have found is from this video and it's look like it's working well with his 24V 300Ah battery: And I'm here to learn more...

First build this summer, Canada, VW T4 lwb, 48V 100Ah or 1x 48V 50Ah now and add another later too be smoother with my budget build?

Thank for the idea of going with 2 separate systems! I’ll think at it now in my electrical system design and when it’ll be the time to add more batteries! About the fact of being stealth as possible, it’s more when it come time to sleep in town to avoid “the knock”! And also a big thank you to...

First build this summer, Canada, VW T4 lwb, 48V 100Ah or 1x 48V 50Ah now and add another later too be smoother with my budget build?

Another reason why I was not sure about the solar, was the fact that I want to keep it as stealth as possible, but you make me think seriously at it since you tell me that in your case it’s cost effective. Can I ask you what are the specs of the batteries you have? Thank for your comment and...

Big thanks to everyone for your answer. I'll try to answer to all of them as fast as I can. Some answers to start: First, I have choose 48V because the video of DIY Solar Power with Will Prowse, that I have put in this post, and that I found this logic to go with 48V. But I'm open to step back...

Thank for your answer! My van will be isolate and heat all the winter with a diesel heater. Cooking and fridge will be on propane. I don't want anything else than LiFePO4 Lithium Battery. The 48v alternator will be a second alternator only for the 48v battery.

Look at the first post in page 2 to see what I'm looking for now! Thanks! I'm in Canada. First build this summer in a Volkswagen T4 long wheelbase, full time van-life, summer and cold winter. I'm looking for cheap, simple as possible, NO solar panel, charge with EV public charger (7.2kW) and...
