DIY 3.6kW bifacial ground mount system

Using propane heat. I don't spend too much time in the winter here. Just head back north to my honeys place. No cooling and that's about to change when the new array and batteries are complete. I see a small mini-split in my future.... Very rural here also but located just 12mi from the county...

DIY 3.6kW bifacial ground mount system

The cells are going to be the Eve 280k. Each pack of three will provide about 7.168kwh to the system. Hoping it's good for about 3 days running with inclement weather. My power needs are modest overall. The ground mount will be in a wide open area facing any direction without shading, lucky on...

DIY 3.6kW bifacial ground mount system

Your system and mine are similar in size and setup before you do any more expansion. I probably won't get much larger than it is now, small things maybe. I'm completely off grid and am 120v only, like you. No future plans for split phase although I almost went that route. The equipment is all...

    UPS Transfer Time - longer?

Wow...4ms is fast. Extremely fast. I am left wondering whether that is even possible, most equipment has a bit longer duration switchover. Example: My Multiplus has a spec of less than 20ms. No adjustments are possible that I know of. I notice nothing blinking or any behavior to indicate it has...

    Off-Grid Victron System

Yes that was it! I'm feeling back to normal now. Details are back. The SOC as calculated over the past year seems to be very accurate. Like a dumb azz I just didn't think of downloading the config before update and I'm on a new computer the old one has the original config file on it. This...

    Off-Grid Victron System

Ran VEConfigure and apparently when the firmware updated it wiped out the settings and in the inverter section I had to check off to use the Multi for SOC and reenter the battery AH rating. The SOC calculation has been restored to the VRM portal. And is accurately sitting at 100 percent. The...

DIY 3.6kW bifacial ground mount system

None of it is "easy" if your not experienced I also have a substantial investment in ground mount hardware for a smaller array of 3.2kw. It's not installed yet but I built another identical one for my son a few years ago. It all really adds up quick on initial outlay but the payback seems to...

    Off-Grid Victron System

That fixed it Thanks! May I ask one more question if you don't mind? Yesterday I upgraded my controller and had some imbalance going on with my batteries (12v series connected for 24v). I charged each battery separately to full and reconnected everything. Once I get into VEConfigure is there...

    Off-Grid Victron System

Thanks Adam De Lay Kind of figured I need to run VEConfigure but I'll need to install that on my new computer. I did find the temp setting you show in remote console and changed it from C to F. VRM is still reporting in C. :fp2 Edit: I stand corrected. I was in another part of Remote Console...

DIY 3.6kW bifacial ground mount system

Been cutting a lot of wood clearing land. Bought a little used Echo CS400 15 years ago. I have literally beaten the snot out of that saw and it just keeps on ticking. Just a tune and clean now and then replace the primer bulb every two years and installed a carb kit about five years ago. Plus...

    Off-Grid Victron System

Have some questions on re-configuring my setup. Paging @sunshine_eggo if available. I Just recently did all the firmware updates to my system. The system consists of a MultiPlus 24v 3000w, Smart Solar 250/100 and a Cerbo S. After the updates finished the system SOC disappeared. Prior to the...

Can this be made to charge Ecoflow Delta 2 when battery is full. SmartSolar MPPT 75/15

Yes you can easily Connect the load terminals from the Victron to the XT60i input of the Delta2 via an on/off switch. Turn switch on when battery is full. Leave the battery connected to the SCC.

How long to charge SOK 48V 100Ah PRO Server Rack Battery?

Okay I wondered the correct procedure on this. I have three packs being assembled soon and can only initially charge them one at a time so I figure get one to 100% and commission into system then work to get the next up to !00%. When the first one returns to !00% after being used then...

    Cut that high speed cable!

Have been using the t-mobile home internet router since last fall. They had a deal if you switch service to them (2 phones) and got their home internet it was $30 a month and unlimited data cap. So what we see here is about a 150w consumption there Mr. Q-Dog?

    VRM screen shots. Post them!

SOC is calculated by the Multi and that data is passed to the Cerbo so you can see it in the VRM in most normal setups. But you can change the SOC calculations to be transmitted by other things such as a smart shunt if you choose. The Multi calculation is usually the best choice.

Taking the Plunge into DIY Battery

That was my thinking. If you give it time, which I have plenty of, at some point (hopefully) things are good enough to commission it into the system Okay then float at 27.6v. That number sounds familiar because I think that is where it's already set at. Won't know till I return to Tenn. Thanks...

Sorry but I'm not within 500 mi of my system right now and it's not online at this time. Q-Dog that screenshot shows about identical loss I would see on a 24v 3000w Multi with a light load. When my loads start approaching the 1500w to 1600w range the loss is a little over 100w or so. By rough calculation still in the range of 90% efficiency (approx). The OP in the low 70% range...

Can you try turning off all loads except Cerbo with the inverter on and see if your idle load is within spec at about 10w? That efficiency number does seem way to high. Something is not accurately reporting or some other problem

Taking the Plunge into DIY Battery

It is a Seplos BMS. It is passive balance at the moment. Figure if I wind up with balancing issues down the road a Neey could be added later if necessary. Just wondering if I will get some decent balance initially if I let it sit at float. I've read about the issues with the Seplos BMS v3 and...

Taking the Plunge into DIY Battery

Contemplating the next steps to get these up and running once I get my cells and put it together. He's running at 12V so I wonder if the efficiency is worse with a lower voltage model? He also forgot to deduct his DC load in the calculation so the efficiency is somewhat better than shown. I have a 24v model and see efficiency numbers similar to what you have shown here @Brucey

Thanks Ampster for the reply I should clarify this system is completely off grid with generator backup.
