What happened to the Vestwoods 8K Inverter?

It may be able to operate without batteries but my guess is you would need one to make any progress with the software and just get it set up. Just seems like the unit is too finicky to know what to do without a battery connection. Hopefully not though. What issues are you having with the firmware?

What happened to the Vestwoods 8K Inverter?

Have gotten confirmation from SS the CT arrows should actually face the inverter and not the grid as it is shown in the manual. This is only one of the issues however.

What happened to the Vestwoods 8K Inverter?

I haven’t heard of this one. Thanks for sharing.

What happened to the Vestwoods 8K Inverter?

Yeah I think I’m just going to have to take the risk and see if it’ll work. For what it’s worth I called them this morning and straight up asked do they stand by it being a good product or not because it hasn’t received great reviews. They did admit the first units did have some issues but they...

How much PV input voltage is needed to start AC on inverter (Deye 8K)

Haven’t read through all the comments but I think the specs are just a product of the internal components. I think the inverter circuit has a minimum of 125V but the MPPT has a minimum input of 150, thus the inverter doesn’t do anything until 150V. Not positive just what makes sense to me...

What happened to the Vestwoods 8K Inverter?

Which inverters are you suggesting? I think by the time you add the cost of two inverters for the 120/240 split phase, pv disconnect, and any building materials you’re suggesting I think this 8k will still be more cost effective and convenient. Haven’t really looked into more complicated...

He also says the sol ark is $7k this unit is <$2k.

What happened to the Vestwoods 8K Inverter?

Maybe so. But the pictures they show in the manual is exactly what mine would look like also. The roof overhangs enough to protect it well enough. I may hold off a little while longer just to see if there’s more success with it. I did see another channel install it succesfully.

What happened to the Vestwoods 8K Inverter?

I appreciate your input. I don’t know if I’m willing to accept the fact that I’ll outgrow it though. My panel is outside, if it were indoors I’d already have purchased the 6000xp. But I don’t want to find something to enclose batteries in and definitely don’t want to shell out for a power wall...

What happened to the Vestwoods 8K Inverter?

The manual of the 6000xp says not recommended for use without battery and I’m not planning on starting off with batteries at the moment. I just want to have a few things powered off solar during the day and then grid fed at night. I inherited panels so just trying to get something up and running...

What happened to the Vestwoods 8K Inverter?

It is this video: At 18:19 he turns both breakers on. One to his inverter and one to his CLP. It’s a great video I’m just really trying to research this unit well because interested in purchasing.

What happened to the Vestwoods 8K Inverter?

I just watched Will’s vid on this unit when it was branded EG4. At 19:59 it looks like he has the grid going to the ac input of the inverter. He also has a direct connection from his mini load center to the critical loads panel. The ac output of the inverter is connected to the same critical...

Just installed some EasyStarts on 5 ton AC

Yeah hopefully I’m not causing more confusion than benefit. Essentially I have 2200W of solar laying around. I want to throw that at my total monthly kWh. I’m trying to optimize my setup so what is the biggest load I can power off solar, during the day because I’m going batteryless, rhetorically...

Just installed some EasyStarts on 5 ton AC

Yes I am strictly deciding if the ac can be run on the solar.

Just installed some EasyStarts on 5 ton AC

When grid tied. I don’t know if I would go through the trouble of moving the ac to a critical loads panel if the array is not capable of supplying enough input to the inverter to run the ac unit completely off solar. Maybe I have the wrong understanding of a grid tie inverter. Can a grid tie...

Just installed some EasyStarts on 5 ton AC

This is great info thanks. I don’t want to make my home off grid just trying to take advantage of the benefits of solar if I already have panels laying around. I went for the biggest load in my mind but moving the water heater is a great idea too. Will definitely do this is my array isn’t big...

    Solar keeps tripping. Please help

This is probably your best case scenario honestly. It’s a problem at the beginning of the circuit. My guess would be panel series/ paralleling wiring, maybe a bad connection. Or maybe a bad panel. I would probably start at the combiner box if there is one since it has the most single points of...

Just installed some EasyStarts on 5 ton AC

The benefit would be the cooling of your house is free during the day running off solar. I don’t have flat billing so my utility bill approaches $350-400 in the summer. With a hybrid inverter or grid tie in solar priority mode I’m thinking solar during the day grid at night would reduce my bill...

Just installed some EasyStarts on 5 ton AC

I need to see what the AC pulls in current but yes I realize the power consumption won’t change. I should have been more specific. I was thinking if I reduce the inverter size I reduce the amount of panels I need. A load is a load.

Micro-Air Soft Starter on 5 ton AC? Variable speed AC vs Single-stage

I need to test what the ac pulls in current but yes I realize the power consumption won’t change. I should have been more specific.

Just installed some EasyStarts on 5 ton AC

Will, in your video you mentioned not using these in a batteryless grid tie system. I was wondering if you could expand why not. You also say if running off grid with critical loads but ac is not on critical loads, then this is not needed. Putting these two scenarios together, is the soft...
