The software or hardware just has to be fast enough to catch this condition as the battery (load) goes away abruptly. This can happen with a lithium battery BMS when they "open up" due to something they don't like during operation. A lot of BMS's have a hard time staying connected it seems. boB

Are these batteries made to be able to put 4 in series to make 48V nominal ? The BMS's have a maximum voltage they can say, turn off at with other batteries in series. 36V + 12V = 48V so maybe there is something wrong with only one of those BMS/batteries ? boB

Does this 4 panel string have ANY shade on the panels at all ? That would certainly make the maximum power point lower.
