Lead acid batteries 6v vs 12v and mixing

Would the setup i just described be considered 3 strings?

Lead acid batteries 6v vs 12v and mixing

So if i match 2x12V in a series string, i could connect to another series string of 2x12v in parallel even if they are different types, ah rating, new vs old, brand... My current bank consists of 2x12v 82.5ah + 2x12v 82.5ah for a total of 24V 165Ah. If i read correctly, i could add 2x12v 105Ah...

    24V parralel imbalances

UPDATE After charging as suggested above, the batteries showed 13.2V and 13.6V 4hours after they were removed from the charger. Hoping this is an indicator of minimal damage and a long life ahead!

    24V parralel imbalances

If i'm reading this spec sheet correctly... 280Ah at 10% so max charge 28A or 56A if connected in parallel?

Thanks for clarifying! Will try your suggestion!

    24V parralel imbalances

Update... Parallel charged for approximately 3 hours. Each Battery showed same Voltage. Voltage was measured during charge (13.8) and with charger disconnected (13.4). Took batteries off the charger and removed the parallel connection. Batteries showed some improvements but were again showing...

    24V parralel imbalances

This is different than equalization right? Pretty sure i read that these types of batteries shouldn't be charged in a four stage but just Bulk, absorption, float... makes sense?

    24V parralel imbalances

Ju Just to be certain... Battery A's + terminal to Batt B's + terminal; Batt A's - terminal to Batt B's - terminal Positive Lead from 12V charger to Batt A + terminal; Negative lead of 12VCharger to - terminal of Battery A OR Batt B?

    24V parralel imbalances

Charge both batteries before connecting the fridge? He is running a 24V inverter charger so can he still connect in 12V parallel and charge that way? Or, should he disconnect the Inverter charger altogether then connect the leads that are coming frome the charge controller to the batteries?

    24V parralel imbalances

My friend has 2x12V batteries connected in parallel. When i checked the voltage on each batterry, one is showing 12.0V, the other 14.8V and the system 26.9. I think I know what his issue may be... he has a DC 12/24V fridge connected to one battery (yes... the one that reads 12V). My system...

    2000w, 24v solar system

Apologies for the multiple quotes in my previous posts... technical difficulties with my App in a low cell reception area... good news is my solar power system works! Lol

    2000w, 24v solar system

I pur I purchased this same unit at the start of August. I LOVE it! I was at the camp for the first two weeks so i could monitor how it worked and it's limitations. No Solar panels. Just the generator to charge my 4x12V series/parralel AGM battery bank (24V 165Ah). First thing... firmware...

What kind of solar charge controller

Thank you! 60Amp overkill is what i thought yet it was recommended by two seperate vendors... it pays to research!

What kind of solar charge controller

I have set the samlex at 25Amps. It's default setting is 40Amps. My question is... Is it waste to have a 60Amp Charge controller if i can't charge at more than 25? Rookie here... refresh my memory as to how you come up with 'at 540W i should be under 25amps Max output'. Is it 540/24=22.5? What...

What kind of solar charge controller

I have a 24V inverter/charger (Samlex 2224) and 4x12v sealed AGM 82.5Ah, connected in series/parralel. Manufacturer recommends max charge 25amps. I'm planning to buy 2x270 watt 24V panels. If i understand correctly, i should get a 30amp mppt? I'm guessing i could set it to charge at max 25Amps...

600ah bank vs 1500w toaster oven

So speaking of Voltage sag... my 24V AGM batterries went from 25.4V to below 24.5V when i fired up my Keurig. To brew two cups, the Wattage fluctuates between 1370Watts and 800Watts for approx 7-8mins. I have my low voltage alarm on my Samlex 2224 Inverter/generator set to 24.5V so this drop in...

    Absorption stage

--UPDATE-- I updated the firmware of the EVO2224 and my RC Plus to Version .79 and .31 respectively. With the new features on the remote, i selected charging profile 3 " 2=3stage type 2" as suggested above and in approx 2.5 hours i went from 25ish Volts to Float. Absorption Exit is set at 4A...

    Absorption stage

Solar panels, 2x270Watt, are coming soon (proably within a month). How do you get 4Ah from dropping 5.5 to 5 in an hour?
  25. C

    Absorption stage

Where are you getting the 700W from? forgive me... i'm a NOOB:giggle:. Even though my FIRMAN 3083 is 3000W it has Eco feature so it runs at lower idle unless a heavy load demands more power. Not sure if this makes a difference. I e-mailed Samlex for a firmware update. Your continuous input is...

    Absorption stage

Consistent indeed! Lol The Generator, for the most part, would all go to the battery except if the fridge motor kicks in (80-100W) for approx 7mins.
  27. C

    Absorption stage

There shouldn't be any load on the Batteries since a transfer switch isolates the battery bank when the generator runs. I noticed the manual you linked is a bit different than the one i received with my 2224. Your link refers to Firmware 0.78 for the Inverter/charger and 0.28 for the RC. My...

    Absorption stage

That's exactly the one (2224). If you look at page 94 it explains that the absorption stage = Bulk stage x 10. I was definitely in absorption stage. At least thats what the remote panel said;)

    Absorption stage

    Really interesting! Much appreciated!

    Absorption stage

165 Ah total since 2x82.5 are in series and connected in parralel to another 2x82.5 in series. Still have lots to learn and appreciate everyone's input! Thanks

    Absorption stage

Is it a big deal if i shut down my generator (stop charging ) during the absorption stage of the charging cycle? I have a Samlex 2224 inverter charger and it automatically sets the absorption time of the cycle at 10times the length of the Bulk cycle. In other words, if it charges for 1 hour...

Charge rate and capacity for FIAMM FLX 300 AGM batteries

Thanks for your Honest feedback Snoobler. I reaaly appreciate it! I have no doubt that there's probably a better battery out there that would meet my needs. There are probably as many opinions as there are batteries too? that being said, i had a great deal on the batteries and i'm still quite...

    Coffee Maker

I hope you don't mind me hanging out to watch what info comes out of this one? i'm sort of in the same boat. However, in my case i'm trying to learn how much of a hit my battery bank would take if i run my Keurig... it peaks at around 1500W when it heats up. I run a 24V system with a Battery...

Charge rate and capacity for FIAMM FLX 300 AGM batteries

I just installed my SAMLEX EVO 2224 at my cabin. I have 4*12v batteries. I believed they were 75Ah but the sheet attached says 82.5. They are setup in a series/parallel configuration so i guess my system would be 165Ah. At one point i was told that i should charge at no more than 20Amps. I...
