How did you set Solar Assistant to change the battery charging voltage?

EG4 Lifepower Batteries SOC vs Voltage Discrepancy

I’m going to try changing the bulk charging voltage to 57.2 for today and see how that affects it.

EG4 Lifepower Batteries SOC vs Voltage Discrepancy

56.2 per spec sheet. But i do recall now that there is an equalization setting in the EG4 inverter settings and i do have it enabled. However, the equalization voltage is only set at the same as the chrage voltage. Should it be set at the default of 58.4 or so?

EG4 Lifepower Batteries SOC vs Voltage Discrepancy

Hellow i'm curious about the apparent and real difference between the displayed SOC and the Voltage of my 6 EG4 server rack mounted batteries. See the attached graphic. This information goes from the batteries to the OrangePi for the Solar Assistant Software. Do the EG4 inverters (i have 4)...

    Battery Faults on AC Compressor

I apologize for going dark for so long but we were gone for vacation and it took me a while to get the soft/easy start from Micro-Air ordered and installed. In fact, i ordered 2 of them. One for my RV and one for my house. I'm happy to report that with the Easy-Start installed my compressor...

    Battery Faults on AC Compressor

Yes all four show 120v. Hmm, my water heater is basically in the center of my house, moving it to a new location and installing a heat pump seems like it would be very expensive.

    Battery Faults on AC Compressor

No, i didn't. 5000w AC output is only 113.12A/6 batteries is less than 20A per battery. Even if one of the batteries is seeing double that current draw, and the batteries are loaded unequally so we get 100A surge we would only have 140A total current from a worst case battery for 1-2 seconds...

    Battery Faults on AC Compressor

My four inverters are fed AC from the main service entrance wire after the meter, before the breaker using ILSCO tapping lugs. When I am on inverters for the whole house I turn of the 200A main breaker at the main panel. My four inverters receive the grid though a sub panel in my garage. Two of...

They are charged through 16kw of solar panels on a daily basis or as the sun provides.

    Battery Faults on AC Compressor

I hear you that the Softsrart will solve the problem and I will likely order that today. However, even if the LRA on the AC were 100 amps that’s still only a surge of 240 Amps at the batteries. Even considering losses if it were a surge of 300 amps it’s across 6 batteries and each battery would...

    Battery Faults on AC Compressor

I have 6 100 Ah Lifepower4 batteries connected to 4 inverters running split phase, 2 in each phase. Up until this last week I was running the same setup but on only 2 inverters. I could Tun my whole house on those two inverters with mostly no problem if we were careful about running high...

Eg4 6500EX Solar Assistant Connection Issue

Ok so if i plug that into the Pi, how does the master inverter get the battery data also? If i buy that cable, is that the only cable I will need to connect to the master inverter, or do i still need 1 for each inverter for a total of 4 of them (yikes $200) all going back to a powered USB hub...

Eg4 6500EX Solar Assistant Connection Issue

Hello there I’m jumping on this thread because I’m having similar issues but I’m using an OrangePi SA. SA was working fine for reading inverter data when I only had two inveters with both of them connected via USB to the Pi. Well I now have a total of 4 inverters (2 in each of the split phases)...

Ampere Time 48v System Design from 12V 200Ah Batteries

Haha i understand. Well these will both be in bay under my RV, so hopefully, i'll never hear them at all. But if it's loud enough that i can hear it inside the coach i may take some soundproofing measures

Ampere Time 48v System Design from 12V 200Ah Batteries

I've been trying to find a suitable alternate item for the one you posted but all of them complain of terrible high pitched constant whine. Does your model have a high pitched whine?

Ampere Time 48v System Design from 12V 200Ah Batteries

Also is this 320A the appropriate class T fuse block? Specifically looking at the 320 Amp one. If so i should have a couple of $32 fuses on hand as spares, like these...is that right? Wow these things are expensive...

Ampere Time 48v System Design from 12V 200Ah Batteries

There is a 4' gap between my left bank and my right bank of batteries. I'm trying to determine how concerned i should be about equal wire lengths from the bank to the inverter. Resistance of 4ga stranded copper is in the neighborhood of .0002485 Ohms per foot and i'm entertaining a wire length...

Ampere Time 48v System Design from 12V 200Ah Batteries

Ampere Time 48v System Design from 12V 200Ah Batteries

Ok that makes a lot of sense. Could you possibly link me to one that would be suitable? The T Class fuses i saw in a cursory glance on Amazon were in the 125A range.

Ampere Time 48v System Design from 12V 200Ah Batteries

And the t-class fuse should be sized for the cable going from each battery bank to parallel connection point? So if i anticipate a potentially 5000w inverter that would be around 100A at max current, less 20% effeciency puts it at about 125A, so 4 ga cable and a 125 or 150A t class fuse? Out of...

Ampere Time 48v System Design from 12V 200Ah Batteries

I understand and wish i had done things different at this point. However, this is what i have. Regarding the bus bars I can easily build a rack (two actually) out of cabinet grade plywood to secure the batteries against movement relative to each other and within the bay. So my thinking was...

Ampere Time 48v System Design from 12V 200Ah Batteries

Yep, hindsight and all. I started with a 2 battle born 12v lithiums, then added 3 additional 12v200Ah Ampere time lithiums for extra capacity, and that worked for a trip last summer but i didn't like the physical layout and i had room for 5 more batteries so that's what i ordered as the 48v...

Ampere Time 48v System Design from 12V 200Ah Batteries

Thank you so much for your reply. Where would i put the master t-fuse? Is this model balancer well known enough or would you recommend another? I will charge them through the inverter with the generator/shore power when available, solar power otherwise. I'd like to look into adding or...

Ampere Time 48v System Design from 12V 200Ah Batteries

That would be nice but i already need a 12V system for the RV "house" 12v needs, and most of it is already wired for the 2000w inverter. I am only going to power the high amp draw items from the 3000w inverter.
  30. T

Ampere Time 48v System Design from 12V 200Ah Batteries

That's certainly worth considering but the downside is the high amp draw on a 12v system. I should have pointed out that the 3000w inverter is the second inverter on this coach. There is already a Magnum 12v 2000w inverter that currently runs the most of the coach. It will run the microwave...

Ampere Time 48v System Design from 12V 200Ah Batteries

As the title suggests i'm assembling a 48v system for my Motorhome. I have 8 12v 200Ah Ampere Time Batteries with 100A BMS. To help with space in the bays of the RV, I’m putting 4 batteries on the passenger side bay and 4 on a drivers side bay. I had been thinking of 4 batteries in series...

EG4-6500EX Multiple Problems Unable to reach Signature Solar for Support for over 6 weeks

That's what i have wondered. If someone could tell me how to check for an eliminate that as a possibility i'll be glad to do it, but i will say that this was never a problem when we were grid only. It is odd that of all the GFCI circuits i have, kitchen and other bathrooms, this is the only...

EG4-6500EX Multiple Problems Unable to reach Signature Solar for Support for over 6 weeks

I did another few tests, and it seems that when the solar output is above the load value, the printer will not cause a voltage drop sufficient to kick in the UPS. It's only when the solar output is low enough to require battery input or when only on battery input that the voltage drops low...
