    12v 4s 250 AMP BMS + Heltec

i have 2 Daly 250 smart BMS's, with BT, and UART (only have one USB cable though) and 2 Heltec 3s-6s active balancers. Removed from a pair of 2p4s 604AH packs, worked extremely well. Only removing to upgrade to 24v. Have all cables and harnesses. $225 + shipping for everything

2p8s is 16 cells, almost all sever batteries are 48v though, I'm looking for the same as the OP

    Big ole batteries!

jJust going to drop this here, Battery specs/manuals what system voltage are you wanting to run? they will last forever with the correct maintenance

    equipment ground

I should have specified this specific instance is in an RV, pretty much everything grounds to the chassis or a bus bar. I don’t miss working on positive chassis cars that’s for sure!

    equipment ground

you can go down one wire size for equipment grounds so 2/0+1/0=4/0 (70mm+50mm+120mm) EDIT: 24/3000 calls for 50mm, so the math still works...just not sure on if its "allowed"

had a thought the other day surfing some FB RV solar groups about specifically what the dual power post on the Victron multiplus/Quattro were for. I know its for multiple power runs to the battery.....but here's my thought (24v system or higher ) so for a 24/3000 calls for 2/0 power runs, can...

    multiple shunts

The system is going into a large 5th wheel camper, so native systems are all 12v

    multiple shunts

that's kind of what I'm thinking on all accounts, with the 24v only feeding the 12v side via some form of Orion/s, this isn't my system diagram but same concept feeding the 12v. I'll probably end up like you said, and just use the 712 independently

    multiple shunts

Im currently running 12v and using Victron a BMV 712 to as the primary BMS, with a Cerbo GX. I'm plan to change to 24v, when I tie in the solar, inverters, ect. I'll be installing a lynx shunt as the primary 24v system, and would like to use the 712 as a 12v "DC system" monitor since I'll have...

    24v AIO on a 50 amp coach

Im very familiar with Victron, and they are the ideal devices (dual 5k quattro's) the price point of the AIO is just too appealing to not consider, especially when considering grid-tie-in when the rig is stored at the house. its a 44' 5th toy hauler, currently with 4k on the roof, 15kwh pack in...

    24v AIO on a 50 amp coach

I've been doing a lot of research and coming up with several issues. was looking at doing 2 3k units (mpp solar or growatt) and they list 40 amp transfer switches and 12gauge wire on the AC side. is there any true 50 amp AIO out there?

    SOK and Furrion

have you changed the profile to lithium in the MPPT? check all the wires and connections between the MPPT and the battery. could be overloading somewhere. GD unit?

    xantrax 458 and a 50 amp coach

So I'll get straight to the point, I have a Xantrax 458 2k inverter charger, amazing for 30 amp or one leg of a 50 amp coach (how it was used before), now i have a new 50 amp trailer, and want to use the 458. Is there a way to power the charger portion, without having to pass the full power? i...

    The "Meg" Build

Exactly. Interesting....I've never seen a 4 point hydraulic system, just the electric... That's what I get for assuming. I work for a grand designs/keystone dealer and see 6 point all day long on these new monster rigs. you may need a buffer battery on your system but nothing big, just for...

    The "Meg" Build

You have the "Ground Control 3.0" system, it really needs a buffer battery of some kind to keep voltage consistent. Each jack has a proximity switch, and they are VERY sensitive to low voltage drops. Lt. Dan's has a hydraulic system that for all intensive purposes doesn't care as long as...

I need a torque wrench or two. Which is your favorite or favorites for solar applications?

the harbor freight "Icon" series hasn't let me down yet....cant beat the price or warranty (seeing as its a Chinese Snap-On)

Victron Lithium "Smart" Battery (BMS Sold Separately)

i will say on Victron's behalf, at least you can get FULL rated current, that's not BMS limited, in a turn-key solution.
  22. Smokey

    4-pin or 16-pin?

the parallel portion doesn't matter (as much) on the BMS, you'd need a 4s BMS for that pack

    Inverter refuses the generator

if the honda works(inverter style, pretty sine wave) and your champion does not (blocky, ugly sine wave). its because the inverter cant duplicate the wave to latch on to mains. ive ran into this ALOT with older RV's with Generac gensets.

    Quality vs China MPPT?

haha seriously! its like car parts.... With any MPPT I think you'll net similar results, but at the end of the day, Id rather have the piece of mind using a Victron on $4+k worth of battery. then cheaping out and risk a component failure sending panel voltage to the pack.

    FET vs software

1-2 amps depending on the model and the Daly is 50ma. If I go fet based, Ill have active balancers on a switch for each pack if the packs get too far out of balance.

    FET vs software

Trying to decide which way to go on my RV build, 24v 31kwh, dual 5k quattro's I need a large 12v supply also for stereo equipment, no not really looking at higher voltages. Where I'm hung up on is going 4p8s with a REC or Batrium BMS or 4, 8s packs with Daly 250 amp BMS's.

    Seperate front camper battery

under normal conditions, that 2nd battery would never see operation, as its only needed in a emergency mode, and a 7ah 12v battery is all that's required . also in reality you'll only see about 10-12 amps of charge current via the 7 pin.

    Daly low temp issues

I ended up plugging it into the computer. Had the sensor in ice water and recalibrated it that way. On a side note, you have to use 0.1 when programming. It’s been working great for the last couple days

    12v Dual Inverter System review

your defiantly going to need more battery capacity with those multi's, I wouldn't make separate/isolated systems though. way more headache then its worth. You could make several parallel groups with independent kill switches. large 12v isn't scary, just needs to be balanced and use sized...

    RV ToyHauler solar system schematic

as shown the converter will be powered off the inverter via the transfer switch, best way I've found is to have a sub panel feet the inverter power circuits and a sub panel. 2. make sure your BMS can power the surge of the inverter 3. how are you fusing the inverter and SCC?
