    Victron charge controller

I noticed you have the Victron Lynx 1000 distribution box with their normal shunt. How do you like the Lynx 1000 and did you concider adding the shunt that goes with it instead?

    Victron charge controller

I like your setup its nice and clean! I take it your only using the AC output 1 and feeding it to a standard 15a recepticle and also a RV 30a recepticle through that breaker box? For the connection the MK3-USB seems to be used for both programming and connecting to a Pi, take a look at this guy...

    Victron charge controller

I was also looking at the Victron Energy Lynx Distributor and maybe the Lynx shunt that goes with it. Is this worth it, seems a little pricey, maybe just the distribution unit alone.

    Victron charge controller

I had noticed i chose the dual at first, not needed here either. Do you like the MP II? Currently I am using the Aims 300w 24v and it works but if I`m going to go victron, might as well cahnge everything. I am going to get the MK3-USB adapter so I can connect it to the Pi.

    Victron charge controller

Sorry I guess I should mention what else I already have. -24v 300aH Lifepo4 battery -2 strings of 3x 340w and 350w (which will make them all 340w essentially) ill be taking the BMV-712 and once I have all this configured I`m thinking of adding the Victron Energy Inverter/Charger MultiPlus-II...

Any any thoughts on the systems i posted above? Also what battery shunt is best that can also connect with the VRM and to the backend for login?

    Victron charge controller

ok well I guess this is going a little further down the Victron rabbit hole then I thought but that’s good, I was planning on changing my SCC first then adding later, keeping my old setup for maybe other items, and since I want to make sure not to purchase the wrong or extra items for...

    Victron charge controller

Thank you for this info, this is very interesting and after lookin at the device this is really cool. Do you know if you can connect more then 2 items, I want to eventually have 2 MPPT and 1 victron inverter/charger. I already have a rasperry with a LTE hat that I will try first, but in the...

    Victron charge controller

Just my small camp, RV with small shed and DC fridge. Its overkill but I like this stuff and like to be able to monitor. Nice knowing if I have to run up to camp to start the generator or shut things down remotely to conserve energy.

    Victron charge controller

I like this since I have 2 raspberry not being used. Would this also allow me to use the victron lte device when my Starlink is shut down?

    Victron charge controller

What device would be required to allow it to be access by the Internet? I see there are a few items you can add once creating an account on vrm. Also is this a free service?

    Victron charge controller

I wouldn’t use more then two that I can think of, this is only my camp and I don’t need very large battery capacity. Is there still a way to connect the device to the Internet so I can see the logs online?

    Victron charge controller

Currently my string is 6 panels at 340w, so after the conversion and 80% efficiency that’s only 60A that I can pull. I rather add a second mppt with a new string and chain them. The location will have different sun times as my first spot doesn’t have room for more panels, so i figured instead of...

    Victron charge controller

I currently use a MidNite classic 150 for my new 24v 300aH battery but rather keep it for my old fla batteries so I am looking at the victron 150/70 to replace it. There are a few options available (smart solar, blue solar, Bluetooth, tr, ve.can, etc). I want to go the Bluetooth route so I’m...

    New lithium battery charge settings

Thank you for this info. So for now I set my charge and eq to 27.6v, eq Tim’s to 0 so this basically disables it, float to 27.5v and my end amps to 15a. What should I set the charge time to? I had it for 15 minutes but changed it to 2 hours now. As for the BMS settings, the capacity voltage is...

    New lithium battery charge settings

First weekend back at camp and I installed my new 24v 300aH lifepo4 battery. I set my MidNite classic 150 for 28.8v eq and absobtion, 27.6v float, 0 minutes for eq time. Not sure if this correct. There are also the absorption charge time and ending bulk amps at 5.4a. What is the recommended...

    Help identify BMS

I purchased a 24v 300ah battery from Alibaba Qishou technology and wasn't sure if they screwed up or not. On a sticker label on the battery is shows JBD150A (7680WH) and in the APP BMS model is AP21S001-V11GB. The sticker on the battery worries me because it looks like 150A and I cant really...

    Battery capacity tester

I'm not too keen on leaving this run overnight, do you think it would matter if I run it all day, stop it at night and resume in the morning? Im also thinking on getting the one that has multiple boards so it can go up to 600w.

    Battery capacity tester

I would use the inverter and shunt I currently have but all of it is at my camp which is not accessible during winter. I ordered myself a cheap 24v inverter and shunt. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B08TR3JZ4W/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A505H0U4TGVUQ&th=1...

    Battery capacity tester

I recently received a battery i purchased, 24v 300Ah, and I wanted to test it to make sure everything is working correctly and it actually has the capacity it’s supposed to have. I`ve been looking through the forum as well as online for a capacity tester for the entire battery (not individual...

    Help with selecting charger

I purchased a 24v 300ah Lifepo4 battery and it should be in in a couple of weeks. I was wondering if there was any recommendation on a charger that is about 50a to 60a, unless this is not a good idea.

    Going to Lifepo4

No my system is currently 24v 420aH. My only thoughts was in the event I want to separate my system I could go back to 2x 12v systems, one for my outdoor power needs as well as my DC fridge in the garage and the other for the RV. But thinking this out more that doesnt make much sense so I should...

    Going to Lifepo4

My system at camp is currently 24v 420aH FLA batteries and I want to move to LiFePO4 next year but I am stuck in selecting where and what to purchase. I would like to stick to 12v in the event I change the batteries or go back to 12v inverter, I can reuse the batteries or sell them easily, 24v...

    Inverter overload - strange problem

If the generator is on straight to the camp and I turn the ac on it works. If it’s on feeding the inverter in bypass/charge mode, that’s when the inverter trips. I tired to turn off eco mode too, same results. The generator doesn’t trip or anything, it’s the inverter that goes into overload for...

    Inverter overload - strange problem

I have an Aims 24v 3000w inverter charger with a 420ah battery bank. Everything works great either in inverter mode or when the inverter is in charge/bypass mode with my Yamaha 3000efi inverter generator. When I use my air conditioning unit (it has a hard start kit) in inverter mode the...

    Building my first system

ok I see what you mean. I really don't want to mess with the existing rv electrical and I will never be somewhere that I can get electricity as we park and leave our rv on our lot and don't have electricity available to us. This is why I would like to be able to plug the existing shore cord to...

    Building my first system

    Building my first system

First of all thank you again for all the help Jim. I took the time to read the manuals and draw what my setup will look like from what I understand. Let me know what you think and if there should be changes. Here are a few of my questions i currently have. Why is the manual asking for a 300a...

    Building my first system

Ok I totally missed the info in the inverter manual about fuse, breaker and wire size, thank you for pointing me in the right direction. I want to be able to connect my trailer plug to the inverter and my Yamaha EF3000 generator to the inverter to bypass when needed, is this possible? I would...
