Mixing EG4 Lifepower4 and wall mount indoor 14.3kWh

I went with two additional Lifepower4 server rack batteries instead. Kept it simple.

    Solar Risks with EMF

I don't really know of any respected study that has shown EMF to really cause health issues. I know a lot of people who have said it does, but beyond that I think there are a few thousand other things to be concerned with (PFAS, etc).

No issue. Hacked account. 20k phantom load and lost all settings and lost AC Couple on 18kpv

Besides arguing the fact I don't use words real good that often, I have not seen a single session cookie exported from a user of ours but I have seen hundreds of compromises based on phishing and just simple password re-use. But, the real point to this was not how it was done but simply...

No issue. Hacked account. 20k phantom load and lost all settings and lost AC Couple on 18kpv

I understand, the point of it being that those attacks are more sophisticated and you generally look at the low hanging fruit first. To me, physical access is akin to any malware compromise where someone has gained remote access to the device itself. Outside of the very rare instances where...

No issue. Hacked account. 20k phantom load and lost all settings and lost AC Couple on 18kpv

Yeah but those session attacks need "physical" (obviously could happen without being physically there) access and in this case it's simply trying to track down whodunnit and an IP would generally be sufficient as most attacks aren't going to originate from legit sources but mostly from...

No issue. Hacked account. 20k phantom load and lost all settings and lost AC Couple on 18kpv

If the system logs IPs obviously that could be confirmed with the OP via PM. But again this is a common thing with password reuse (not saying that happened as I have no clue about millsan1s "opsec").

The username there matches the username here. Guessing the account was compromised (most likely scenario).

Do you use the password for this service anywhere else? Is it a good password or one that would be considered weak?

No issue. Hacked account. 20k phantom load and lost all settings and lost AC Couple on 18kpv

Honestly these platforms really do concern me in terms of security. There is no MFA option for the service that Sol-Ark uses and the overall feeling there doesn't scream "we are super secure" to me.

    EG4 Lifepower4 48V Top Balancing Firmware.

Stats from home assistant queried directly from the battery bank. Doing a deeper discharge today to hopefully help this issue.

    EG4 Lifepower4 48V Top Balancing Firmware.

The two at the top are brand new, the other four are about 8 months old now. The two new ones just need to exercise a bit from what I can tell. Setting the hub back to 56.2V for charging has resolved the issues where literally everything was sent into OV protection/warning which would cause my...

    EG4 Lifepower4 48V Top Balancing Firmware.

I can't get photos anytime today, but I can describe how everything is connected. Each battery ties to the bus bar sold by Signature Solar (https://shorturl.at/amzG8) They are connected each with 24" 6AWG conductors. The positive and negative conductors leading to the inverter are at opposite...

    EG4 Lifepower4 48V Top Balancing Firmware.

I’m running the latest versions published on the EG4 site for the hub and batteries as of this Saturday. The setting back to Solark has not changed the issue where the Solark PV production limits are hen the batteries reach full, the only way I achieved that was backing the charge voltage down...

    EG4 Lifepower4 48V Top Balancing Firmware.

The issue for me is finding that spot. The battery spec says 56.2V, right now that might actually cause it to behave, however the two newest batteries are still going into OV protection but that might be due to them being new and needing a few cycles (so I read elsewhere). The biggest concern...

    EG4 Lifepower4 48V Top Balancing Firmware.

Came back out this morning to find the communications hub had set the charge voltage to 57V, even though I had set it to 56.2V yesterday. I had three contacts with Signature Solar support today, honestly, I feel as though this firmware for the hub is less than half baked but nobody really can...

What was your worse DIY solar mistake ever?

175' of buried conduit that I should have gone a size up on.

Mounted on the back of my house under an overhang.

Communications between Sol-Ark 15k and EG4 Communications Panel

I’m bumping this thread because after the firmware update yesterday I see the exact behavior with my 15k. How is it going now? This is with the latest communications hub firmware too.

EG4 battery keeps going into COV Protection mode

I updated the firmware on my lifepower4 48V batteries and it’s been a total fiasco. I’m getting cell and module OV protection on all 6 batteries when fully charging.

    EG4 Lifepower4 48V Top Balancing Firmware.

This is nuts. After updating the firmware on the hub all of the settings are reset to the defaults… including the inverter communication option! It was reset to EG4 as the inverter, not a single line in the instructions indicates this is what will happen. I should have checked it, I know better...

    EG4 Lifepower4 48V Top Balancing Firmware.

Well this isn’t great. Since the firmware update to the communications hub and batteries my inverter is now behaving oddly by limiting production randomly and not exporting to the grid. Disconnecting the hub and disabling BMS on the inverter returns it to normal. My inverter is a Solark 15k...

    EG4 Lifepower4 48V Top Balancing Firmware.

That’s the issue, until the firmware update yesterday there was no OV condition. After the firmware update is when all four packs three pack and cell OV protection. So it was running in this state for almost a year now, the new firmware just brings the condition to light. Edit: checked again...

    EG4 Lifepower4 48V Top Balancing Firmware.

I upgraded my 4 packs I bought last year along with the two new I just purchased. The four older lifepower4 set showed a cell and pack over voltage until I discharged a bit. Is there any concern with this since I was running older firmware? It seems the previous firmware was allowing cell/pack...

Do these have the capability of adding newer firmware to them?

    6 x EG4 LifePower4 - Longer conductors or larger busbar?

After I thought a bit more on this and did some voltage drop calculations I will be fine with 2' conductors from each terminal to each bus bar.

    6 x EG4 LifePower4 - Longer conductors or larger busbar?

Each is connected to the busbars linked in the OP. Negatives to one, positives to the other, then a 4/0 copper conductor from each to the Solark 15k inputs that are linked with bus bars to allow the full amperage. Currently the conductors going from the positive and negative terminals on each...

    6 x EG4 LifePower4 - Longer conductors or larger busbar?

I have six EG4 Lifepower4 batteries now (had 4 before). The existing four were connected using the included conductors that are 12" long. However, adding two batteries now means that at the extremes the included conductors will not reach. Busbar...

Solar set up for ev charger

I currently have a 11kW system and on these very nice days with grid tie (so zero throttling due to not having a place to store electric) I can hit around 70-80kWh. I charge our EV with this with no problem (and run the house, etc). You could have a much smaller system just depending on driving...

Mixing EG4 Lifepower4 and wall mount indoor 14.3kWh

Thank you, this does answer the question I had of how to keep them balanced. My wife and I are planning on selling our home next year and moving to a new property, maybe with that refresh I will switch over to the wall mounted design totally, unless the price of the LL4's drop enough to come to...

Mixing EG4 Lifepower4 and wall mount indoor 14.3kWh

I've been doing research on this and I still question how this would work together. Currently: 4 x EG4 Lifepower4 server rack batteries connected to a bus bar then going to the Solark 15k Does adding a single larger battery like the new EG4 wall mount indoor 14.3kWh battery pose any...

15k Sol-ark what panels to max output?

I have (or, will have) 14 of the Jinko 535W panels on MPPT2 for my 15k. Currently running 7 of them in a temporary config until I can get my buddy over with his dingo to get holes dug for my EG4 bright mounts. Those panels are producing well in non optimal conditions, im sure the 565 will be...
