EVSE to Sigineer to Charge Home Batteries

I missed this message. So I think that may be part of my issue currently, I was not aware of a bond issue with this inverter. So I got the cable in, tried it, and it caused my EVSE to through a GFI error still.

EVSE to Sigineer to Charge Home Batteries

I want to use the EVSE from the grid to power the batteries during specific hours where it costs less to do so. The program utilizes the chargers internal reporting for the amount of power used to charge a battery powered device. In order for the EVSE to begin charging it needs a J1772 adapter...

EVSE to Sigineer to Charge Home Batteries

I appreciate that. I ordered a cable from them to try. Looks like the SUSUTOO adapter I was using maxed at 15 amps, and the inverter pulls a minimum of 15 amps, so it was popping things angrily. Should have the new cable in the mail in the next couple of weeks and can update when it comes in...

EVSE to Sigineer to Charge Home Batteries

I can take some photos in the morning to send directly. Currently it’s not a very… safe setup. 😅

EVSE to Sigineer to Charge Home Batteries

Definitely fascinating from what I’ve read so far. Does the chargeverter have any method that you know of for connecting a j1772 connection to it? The plug I posted should only be capable of 3.5kw, and if I could have something that would pass through the full amount that the chargeverter can...

EVSE to Sigineer to Charge Home Batteries

Not a dumb question, and one I expected to come up a few times. The cheaper rates are only available through the EVSE. The plan would be to charge the batteries via the EVSE on days when I don’t get any sun if I need it.

EVSE to Sigineer to Charge Home Batteries

It has a potentiometer that doesn’t seem to work for the life of it. I adjusted it as low as it could go though.

EVSE to Sigineer to Charge Home Batteries

That certainly looks promising. A bit pricey, but could be a good option for sure.

EVSE to Sigineer to Charge Home Batteries

All right, so I’ve got a dumb thing I’m trying to do, and trying to not blow things up in the process. Current setup: Sigineer 15kw 48V Inverter...

Help: Engineering Plans for Ground Mount Panels in NW Florida

I really appreciate the info. Do you mind if I ask how much it's costing for the engineered plans through them?

Do you mind if we ask how much the plans with the engineer cost?

Help: Engineering Plans for Ground Mount Panels in NW Florida

Yeah, I'm trying my best to be as nice with them as possible and so far it seems they still like me. Unfortunately they're not very forthcoming with information albeit direct questions about what exactly they're wanting.

Help: Engineering Plans for Ground Mount Panels in NW Florida

I was able to get a little bit more info, though my county is kind of rude about giving any information. Tier 1 equates to 130 MPH winds which is a bit insane in my book. I'm hoping they'll accept my own personal plans which should have all of the necessary info that they want, just no engineer...

Help: Engineering Plans for Ground Mount Panels in NW Florida

Sorry for the late reply. I'm going to try drafting up basic "engineered" plans and see if the county accepts it and gives me the building permit. If they don't and say "No, it has to be signed off by an engineer" then I'll work on going that route.

    New From Florida

We've done a couple here in the past few years and the only thing they originally required was an electrical permit and inspection, but I guess they recently changed it to require a building permit for the actual mounting system. I don't think UL is required so much as just making sure it can...

    New From Florida

I'm fortunate that NW Florida doesn't seem to require a licensed solar engineer, but they do want engineered plans. I'm wondering if I can adapt the Tamarack plans to accommodate for using top rail alone and not use their proprietary and expensive rails.

Help: Engineering Plans for Ground Mount Panels in NW Florida

You're probably right, but I'm not entirely sure. The permit office didn't say the plans had to be signed off by an engineer, they just have to be "engineered plans", and when I spoke with them the main thing they wanted was to know how the mounting system would be built, materials used, and the...

Help: Engineering Plans for Ground Mount Panels in NW Florida

I recently came in to a full solar system from my brother after he moved and now I'm running in to a bit of an issue with getting it permitted. The electrical side of everything is easy to get the permit for and should be to code already, so that's not where my issue comes in. I'm doing a...

    New From Florida

I'm in a similar boat and looking for similar answers. I'm in the NW of Florida in Santa Rosa County and they said I need an electrical permit (which is easy) and a building permit since I'm doing ground mount, which requires engineered plans, and that's where I'm running in to issues.
