Emporia energy monitor is lame, can't get the data I want, ESPHome?

I guess I misunderstood. You can create sensors in Home Assistant that are separate import and export sensors. Import would be positive flow and export would be negative current flow. Not sure why you would need two separate numbers. Because the data is coming several times a second you can...

Emporia energy monitor is lame, can't get the data I want, ESPHome?

The Emporia only has two CTs for mains measurements. If you put the CTs on the grid feed, then you can see import and export. If you have a hybrid inverter with a grid in and a load out, you can only measure one or the other.

Emporia energy monitor is lame, can't get the data I want, ESPHome?

The Emporia flashed with ESPHome and sending the data to Home Assistant is very reliable. The native Emporia software leaves much to be desired. The native s/w sends data out to the Emporia server and then you have to login to the server to get your data. The server traceroutes to an AWS...

I know this is a late reply, but did your Solar Assistant stop reporting energy states on the last transition to DST? My Solar Assistant did the same exact thing this past Sunday morning. Its now Tuesday and the HA energy dashboard is still showing all zeros. The energy state topics are being...

Anybody use web scraping to pull data off their inverter?

I'm finding out that Sol-Ark doesn't have an API to pull inverter data into a local database and use Grafana for presentation. One other way to pull the data would be to use the web interface and scrape data. Doing scraping wouldn't be easy and would probably break if the web interface changes...

Sol-Ark 15K with open loop batteries asking for trouble?

The Sol-Ark website says the 15K works in closed loop Homegrid and Fortress Power batteries. I'm mounting the batteries outside under the eaves, so I need a IP65 rating. My installer is recommending the Generac PwrCell, which is not closed loop, but open loop control. Going open loop, am I...
