Glad you got what you needed. One thing to note, you are incorrect about the SCP not being firmware updatable. I updated mine via insight.

I bought mine after buying my XW back around 2010 -2011 time frame. It works with my XW and XW+. It does not have a usb port for updates. There is another way to update it but I just bought a Insight so I could keep an eye on things remotely and updates are super easy.

Purchase for my system but I have decided to change to high voltage series connection instead of parallel connections and ordered 500v charge controllers. This is the 250v version. $250 + shipping.

Yea they were no help. I’ll guess I’ll just add a headway LifePO4 cell in line with it to bump up the capacity 10ah. Not exactly what I was hoping for spending this much on a new battery bank!

I ended up having to reset the settings and that fixed the no charging problems.

I have moved the cell and it follows the cell so it is not the BMS. I have verified the voltages using a Fluke. I top balanced for a week and the BMS can get the difference to 1mv, but as soon as you actually cycle the battery it goes out of balance immediately!

The 3 other banks have a difference of 20ish max or less than 1/5th of this one. All 15 other batteries in that bank are very close…. Just 1 that is a problem…. And they will not replace 1 cell on a $10k+ order!

That cell is always the first to top out and the first to bottom out… obviously less capacity than the others. By how much, I am not sure… my point is 18650batterystore.com will not stand behind their product!

This sure seems to be the case with the 1 of 64 bad cells I got! According to them 120mv+ difference isn’t that much….

Just an update, although 18650batterystore.com did finally get back to me, they were of no help! They asked me to move the cell in the bank to see if it was the BMS causing the issue… I did as they requested and the problem followed the cell. Their reply was that the cell must have a higher...

Well I hate to say it but 18650batterystore.com has not been much help at all with the 1 cell that is bad. It started out lower than all the rest, but once charged it is always first to hit overvoltage usually over .100v difference, and the lowest when I drain the pack, again usually by .100v or...

Well I may have to change this… seems my Growatt is not charging… not sure what is up.. no error codes… just a flashing green light indicating it should be charging but no output.

So which is better??? Well I am doing a side by side to see… Build quality - both are well built but the Schneider is a little better IMO. I have not torn into a Growatt yet but the first capacitor I can see is a Rubicon (high quality) which is nice to see. All too often I see cheap crap...

Well 2 days ago I had a little accident… when you think you are being safe enough… better double check! I went to connect the bms and one of the ground lugs came off the post and hit the positive… instantly vaporizing the copper ring terminal and leaving me with a nice little burn. I’m just glad...

Progress has been slow…. I have been waiting on my BMS’s to show up… they finally have! 1 went with JKBMS in 1a20s15p (150 amp) x 4… added 125 amp breakers… the cross over busbars are 4gauge x 2… should be fine but will check with thermal once everything is up and running.

My take on cell compression…. A little foam, 1/2 acrylic, and a couple tie straps…

Anyone out there skilled in 3D design/printing? I would love some covers made for the dual post EVE 280’s bus bars. I have played with 3d printing but haven’t done enough to be able to design the part.
