    EG4 Communications Hub & Sol-Ark 15K

EDIT: Never mind, looks like the answer is no. Bummer. I just got an EG4 Communications Hub and hooked it up to my Sol-Ark 15K. I can see the battery data on the screen, is there a way to see the actual individual battery data (SoC, errors, health, etc) from the Sol-Ark?

    EG4 hub overriding sol-ark settings(absorb,equalization, float)

I have a battery bank of 8x EG4 LiFePower4s. During the day I'm charging my Tesla with them. Yesterday six of the eight went into alarm, the two that weren't in alarm were drained to less than 25% and couldn't pull the amperage needed, so my Sol-Ark shut things down. I've noticed this happen...

Off-Grid Geothermal Heat Pump - SOLVED!

We have an off-grid setup with a single Sol-Ark 15K and 8x 100aH batteries. My geothermal system was rebooting the inverter due to the amperage being pulled at startup (154 amp LRA). My HVAC vendor sucked and was no help. I researched and found the EasyStart. Not convinced, I ordered it...

Propane for now, but I'll be booting up my geothermal soon, had to figure out an LRA issue, was rebooting my inverter on startup. Due to being off-grid we opted for a propane backup furnace instead of heating strips (too many watts). Now that I have my geo issue figured out we will go 100% geo...

Cost was $40K. After all of my incentives it was around $28K. It was going to cost me about $12K to hook up to the grid though, which isn't included in this (we opted to go off-grid, hence the 40kWh battery bank). If I include that it comes out to $16K. I underestimated the efficiency of my ICF...

Thank you. We love it here. 12 acres at the top of a NICE sledding hill, haha. I do have a 9500W gasoline backup generator (I may switch to propane). In December we generated 64% of our power with solar, January was 54%. I plan to add more panels this spring/summer so we have to use that less.

It's official. February 2023 was 100% solar powered! No backup generation! EDIT: ~504 kWh used in February 2023

    Voltage Drop

My Sense Labs is showing more voltage drops than I'd like. Have a Sol-Ark 15K, 40kWh EG4 LFP batteries, and 10.92kW in solar. Is this an issue with how my electrical panel is set up since it's leg two that's too far out of spec? Is this going to ruin sensitive electronics/appliances? ICF home...

    18 Day Streak!

Your setups are a bit different than mine. I'm powering and conditioning 6,700 SF with 10.92kW solar and 40kWh of battery. Sol-Ark 15K inverter. I'm averaging just under 19kWh daily for the month of February, but once I flip my geo switch (hopefully this weekend, I think it's finally thawed...

    18 Day Streak!

365 is my goal. Our system just came online end of October, wanted to get through 6-12 months before we add more. We're conditioning a rather large amount of space, so we're using a decent amount.

    18 Day Streak!

Got down to 31% this morning, almost broke our 18 day streak of 100% solar (no generator - we're off-grid)!!!! Pretty excited about that!!! What's your longest streak of 100% solar?

    Solar Generation

How is your solar doing here in February? We're currently generating 29% more than our daily needs and haven't had to bust out the generator since January 30th! We're been 100% solar for over two weeks now! I have an algorithm I use to estimate the "extra" we would have generated to sell back...

    Lightning

Considering getting a Ford Lightning. I am off-grid solar. I installed my solar in October and got through Oct, Nov, Dec, and Jan with help from a generator. Since Jan 31 I have not had to use the generator at all, woohoo!!!! However, if I had an extended range Lightning (131kWh battery) it...

    Sol-Ark 15K + Generator

My installer hooked up my gen as "grid", I'm not sure why, but I believe it was recommended? Either way, you CAN adjust it, but per battery and "sensitive electronics" recommendations, they set it to be more picky.

    Sol-Ark 15K + Generator

"...I like to see something that turns 1800 rpm, holds a gallon or oil, liquid cooling is nice and its made for everyday service and not a light duty standby unit..." What would that be? It has to run on propane and it has to be able to sit outside 24/7, rain or shine, sleet or snow (northern...

Food Grade Drum For Hot Water Storage

    Sol-Ark 15K + Generator

It wouldn't be under constant load. I generated about 399 kWh last month with the generator and about 326 with solar. January has been just as crappy. Hoping other months get better... It's a 10.92kW system, I was hoping it would do better than 326 kWh...

    Sol-Ark 15K + Generator

Generator experience / advice, please. Much appreciated!!! I want to go with a propane standby generator and have it start up when my batteries hit X%. Water Battery Idea

I think I could get the equipment for around $10K. While that would double my solar install, I'm still not sure if that would keep me above the water in winter. Looking to supplement that. I spent $196 in gasoline for my generator last month (propane is about 1/3 the cost and natural gas is...

    Clear Solar Panels

I'm looking at doing a roughly 1,000 SF greenhouse on my property. I've read some articles about clear solar panels and I'd like to use them for the roof of it. I've not been able to find a vendor to supply me with them though. Has anyone found a vendor that has them, or a similar technology?
