That is a clever battery setup. What types of cells are safe to lay on their sides, like that are possibly doing? I guess they could be using 18650 cells in those packs.

Wow! That is definitely it, at least in most of the shots. (For some reason, they have a different battery box in some of the shots.) Even the colors on for the labels are the same. Maybe this is a big thing down under. I found a link to the Ridge Ryder line of products...

A couple snap latches on the sides. On a more serious note, the lack of latches really is not that big of a deal. The strap provided does have a quick disconnect. I probably just have a general aversion to straps.

It did come with a strap, I was hoping there would be a way to secure the lid without a strap. Mostly for easier access to the cells but I probably will not need that. It also came with some brackets to secure to the front and rear of the box. Then the strap is supposed to be run through them...

Got the battery box today. Overall construction seems decent. A couple things that I wish it had: First, a lid that securely latched into place. Second, an adjustable internal partition to accommodate smaller battery sizes. The box that the battery rests in is the same size as the Group 27 box...

The description says, and the pictures also suggest, that it has a resetable circuit breaker. No indication of what amperage the breaker is rated for. From your photo, it looks like it is only protecting the USB ports and battery meter.

What was your impression of the overall quality?

The simple way that I think of it is that you can store enough energy in that battery bank to run a 48V load pulling 1A (amp) for 840 hours or a 24V load pulling 1A (amp) for 1680 hours. Like you mentioned you are probably only going to be able to pull those loads for half the amount of time...
