Issue with anti-virus on forum as guest

Obviously could be false trigger, but this evening, prior to logging in, I'm seeing my anti-virus trigger on the forum...

BitDefender is triggering the following when browsing some threads...

"Online Threat Prevention
chrome.exe attempted to establish a connection relying on an unmatching security certificate to www.solarelectricityhandbook.com. We blocked the connection to keep your data safe since the used certificate was issued for a different web address than the targeted one"

Have we got a dodgy advertiser? @Crowz @Will Prowse ?
 
I run Bitdefender, and I don't have any issues opening DIY solar in an incognito window.

However, if I load that website, which is linked in my signature, I get a warning SOMETIMES... is it only on pages that I'm on??? :p
 
Maybe the site knows you have 14.759 posts vs. my mere 2,359 posts and decided you didn't need a 'solarelectricityhandbook' ;) 😞
 
Or you configured BitDefender not to sneek on your incognito browsing habits? ;)🤣

I can't get the site to connect at all. I could remove all the links.
 
They didn't setup a ssl certificate for that domain. They set it to load a different certificate that isn't for that domain name. There is no risk to it its just the joys of how things like to report errors.

I wouldn't want my bank having a bad ssl certificate. I could care less what a site I wasn't sending private information to had for a certificate.

As mentioned using http:// in place of https:// makes it load fine IF you have a browser that lets you do that. Chrome isn't to keen on anything not being https but firefox will do it fine if you have it setup right.

Anyway that site is an awesome site. It's probably one of the best sites that exist for solar angles etc

The site unfortunately goes down a lot, but here's a video where he demonstrates some of the calculators on the site

Actually they have their webmail certificate loading for the domain.

Error code: SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN

The certificate that loads when I look it is for webmail.goten.ukwebsolutionsdirect.com

Firefox's version of whats happening :

Websites prove their identity via certificates. Firefox does not trust this site because it uses a certificate that is not valid for www.solarelectricityhandbook.com. The certificate is only valid for webmail.goten.ukwebsolutionsdirect.com.
 
The site been down here for like a month, I already archived their calculators though.
Whatever you're getting is unique to where ever you connect to them from

The one in the video I posted as well
I assume others it's still dead too, so I posted the video at least they can see some of the cool calculators
 
yea http will only give warnings if browser is configured for https only mode
makes sense for any purchase sites / banks etc

Same. Site works just fine. I just used the solar angle calculator to verify it works.

I think gotbeans needs to try a different browser maybe and make sure to use http and not https.
 
Might set your hosts file to use this :

solarelectricityhandbook.com [195.8.196.182]

Thats the ip I get for the site.
