Maple Leaf Branded 6500EX-48 - Any Experince?

With ya on that one @Lt.Dan !
I thought my 6048's were 'high idle' at 75W - now I feel these are 'not that bad' but will trade up to something better in a year or two, I would like higher PV DC voltage - 250 would be fine, and maybe 50W idle would suit me.

I agree... I have panels that wont allow to get the 4kW PV input unless I want clipping... 405W Longi's with ~40VOC and 13A at max... I have them in 5S right now until I see how much the voltage spikes in the coldest days..
I looked up this Longi 405, it has VOC of 37 and a temperature delta of -0.265 (quite low compared to most)
In 5s your base VOC will be 5 x 37 = 185 (at 25C)
the delta at -0.265 would mean to reach 250v it would need to be: 250-185 = 65 meaning you would be okay anywhere on earth and remain above the 250v threashold.
-0.265 x (-50) = 13v for the temperature delta. 185 + 13 = 198 ie nothing to worry about.

On Vancouver Island it would only rarely get to -15c for a few days.. I could run 6S in the summer but the winter may be tight so I am sticking with 5S.

My current issues with these units (I have not been able to get any response from the retailer over the past month either by phone, email or web form)

1. One unit loses settings after reset
* Have to change it back from single to 2P1 each time
* is there a way to reset the unit from a fault state without cuttings solar and grid power to it?
2. Unit faults with F80, power gets cut
* unclear if this happens only when solar is connected to 2P1 unit
3. F52 error, power gets cut
* This has happened multiple times when moving from SUB to SBU, I'm not sure that's the only time it happens
4. Long switching time > specifications
* when switching to battery there is a long enough delay to see the power drop and come back which causes some devices to lose their settings, and I expect is not particularly healthy for anything hooked up
5. Unexplained switch to bypass vs battery
* some times (usually at about half load [3-4kW]) the units will switch to what appears to be bypass but still feeding power from the batteries
* when in this state it does not report the current draw from the batteries

I have one on the way and will let you know.. Looks to be a rebranded LV6548... despite the 6500EX-48 name. I only have 4kW of panels so will have dual 2kW strings and the unit seemed to be well suited to that.

Was also looking at the SP6548 with the 390V PVOC but not sure if the consumption on the higher V units has been optimized yet.
How's it going, what battery?
