I'm adding an external pair of solar panels (2x 90W, ground deployed) to my camper trailer. I'm putting them in series (to maximize performance) which will make an open circuit voltage of 44V (but just at 5.5A). I'm adding a Victron SmartSolar MPPT 75/15 inside with 10AWG good quality marine wiring to a bulkhead connector not yet installed. Because the connector will be in a protected outer storage compartment it doesn't need to be waterproof. For simplicity I was going to use an SAE bulkhead connector which I got a year ago, which appears well made, with 10AWG wire leads. The wire leads are printed with "300V" so will be fine, but is it safe to assume that the connector itself is ok to handle 44V? I can't find printed spec's for the (Cerrxian) connector, from amazon. This only recently occurred to me...I hesitate, since SAE, Society of Automotive Engineers, was surely created to handle just nominal 12V. So is it ok for 44V? Or must I use a different connector?
