Hey guys, I’m just throwing this idea out there to see if anyone has done it or thought of doing it but realized it was a no go. So here’s the idea: high voltage solar heat pump.

I’ve seen a lot of diy 48v battery banks out there and many people have done multiple like Andy from off grid garage. What if you made a high voltage battery of about 144 volts and paired it with this aims high voltage inverter? Then do a DC line directly to the PV input of a solar heat pump like SS’s eg4 hybrid? The voltage is at the lower end of the range for both the aims inverter and eg4 heat pump but it takes away the intermittency of PV and the conversion of DC to AC to provide heating/cooling at night. What do you guys think?

Interesting…so other than wanting a “reliable” high voltage BMS it should be doable :)
