Okay then I guess I have to say goodbye to my family already now, will save me some time after for more solar panels projects.
  • Post in thread: How does a charge controller work

Okay, thank you very much for everything!
  • Post in thread: What are the dangers I should be aware of before building my solar system.

My goal with this is to mainly charge my laptop each night and sometimes my phone which will take max 200Wh per day, and the following day I will have to put 200Wh again in the battery to be again at 100% which shouldn't be that hard with a 115W 12v Solar panel.

So if I have some questions about what I read, in section 690 and 705, can I ask to you? By the way, I have to read all the subchapters of the section right, not just the first one? (Starting with the first one which explains what a solar system is).

    Okay, thank you very much!
  • Post in thread: Which battery capacity for my solar panel

So in this case, I don't use my battery at all to charge sth?
  • Post in thread: Are small wind turbines worth it?

Thank you very much for the links, already read a half of the first article... too bad it doesn't work as I thought so. Do you have some other great links about how solar pannels work?
  • Post in thread: Does a solar panel with a broken glass still work? Is it dangerous to use?

Is there anything I can do about it, to avoid those effects?
  • Post in thread: Are small wind turbines worth it?

Hello, I would like to know if small wind turbines are "fake" or are really able to charge small devices as a phone or smartwatches. I found one in the market for example which says it has 10W, do you think it works? Or will I need too much wind to make it work. Would it be better for the same...

Got it, will be very kind with him then
  • Post in thread: General questions about how solar panels work

Hello guys, I am a Swiss highschool student and I would like to buy a solar panel 100W, 12v. My goal is to be able to charge my laptop, my phone and why not a lamp. However, I'm not sure how to do it. Here are my questions: For a 100W, 12V solar panel, do we need a charge regulator, a 12V...
  • Post in thread: Which battery capacity for my solar panel

I guess I have to pray the battery hasn't been used yet haha. So I need a charger for the first time which charges the battery with normal electricity (not the one from the solar panel)?
  • Post in thread: Which battery capacity for my solar panel

Also, how does a charge controller works in easy words? How do I do the settings of this device for a daily cyclic use?
  • Post in thread: Which battery capacity for my solar panel

I meant if there is no sun at all, I don't use the battery to charge a device because if I do so it will go bellow 50% and damage the battery, so I wait until better wheater conditions come and don't use the battery at all until that. Is that what I must do? Or I understood wrong? If sth is...
  • Post in thread: Are small wind turbines worth it?

You are right! Which is quite sad, because without taking the problem seriously we could think it is a good alternative, but it isn't. I will spend my money on some extra solar pannels then. Speaking of batteries. Do you know some batteries which are not too much expensive (like 200 dolars max)...
  • Post in thread: Which battery capacity for my solar panel

Oh yeah you are right! Haven't seen well the decimals. Okay so if I understood well, I should sometimes not use the battery all day, so it can charges 100%? What do you mean by " a few hours of float"? That for a few hours I don't use it at all and let it charge itself? Alsoo so the bigger the...

    Lollll
  • Post in thread: Which battery capacity for my solar panel

By the way, I must not go below 50% or 75% of the battery capacity?
  • Post in thread: How green is solar energy?

    You are totally right!
  • Post in thread: Which battery capacity for my solar panel

I was thinking of my laptop or phone. I shouldn't do that?
  • Post in thread: Hydrometer to see how healthy the battery is. How does it work?

Thanks a lot for these explanations, now I finally understand!
  • Post in thread: Which battery capacity for my solar panel

I am not sure I understood everything perfectly, because the physical vocabulary is quite difficult for me, and I don't know for example what a 13.6v float means, but I will try to read it again tomorrow and try to understand better!
  • Post in thread: Which battery capacity for my solar panel

    Okay thank you?
  • Post in thread: Which battery capacity for my solar panel

Okay so like 100W from my solar panel and around 50W from the loads would work?
  • Post in thread: Which battery capacity for my solar panel

So if it shows 100% it means sth is wrong?
  • Post in thread: Which battery capacity for my solar panel

That's very clear and precise thank you! An other question, is there a problem if my battery is a "start-stop" AGM kind of battery? Will it work less good or is it okay to use that one?
  • Post in thread: Which battery capacity for my solar panel

Yes I figured it out, My laptop is like around 35/40 watts and my phone 10 watts so it will be around 50W per day (even less most of the time, because I already have a small solar panel for my phone), would it work with a 100W solar panel which means it will have actually around 70 watts with...
  • Post in thread: How green is solar energy?

Your answer is very well written, I like your way of seeing things even though it's kind of sad truth. So for you there is no better energy yet than solar?
  • Post in thread: Which battery capacity for my solar panel

Okay thanks anyway, you have been a great help!
