Photos look very similar to DC house but seems like there are some differences which could be chalked up to revisions There was glue holding the epoxy cover which I didn’t want to remove in case it’s a warranty issue. Couldn’t get a great shot of the bms QR code either. Haven’t checked the...

Here's my recent battery cart build (99% finished but a few niggles to work on): BOM (Tax + shipping to California included): 1x Seville UltraHD Solid Wood Top 2-Drawer Steel Rolling File Cabinet, 20" x 18" - $147.57 3x 48V 50Ah Stackable LiFePO4 Battery - $1,251.35 1x Rich Solar 3,000 Watt 48...

The fit. Unfortunately I realized the wheels are attached to the bottom in two sections which means the front half of the floor is only held on with two screws. I decided to add some pop rivets and will probably add some kind of base to distribute load to the front frame. It wasn’t falling...

I’ll note that the one I opened does have some thin plastic sheet between cells. The restraint is also plastic although I had hoped/assumed it would be metal to provide compression (actually maybe it’s just thin and bendy). After looking at the spec cards I’m convinced it’s the same...

power went out while I was prototyping. Painters tape keeping my house warm tonight (not via combustion but I’m keeping a close eye on this)

FWIW I charged the same pack back up to 58.4v at 10a limit and it took almost exactly 5 hours to hit that. So just over 50ah back in if my inverter is to be believed. Likely I didn’t have it fully charged before the first test, possibly an issue with parallelization. I don’t really want to...

lol at first I thought you were gonna say it fits perfectly in the trash I’m putting mine in this. It’s a bit of a tight fit I have to take at least one panel off to get it in (or play Tetris). Gonna need some fr4 or fish paper to guard against shorts...

I can fit all three stacked in regular orientation (15 inches high, with shelf removed there’s a few inches clearance to the drawers. I guess I could remove the bottom drawer if I wanted another battery but I’d be pushing the stack ability structure and weight limits. Luckily this thing is...

Yes I did 100a for the main breaker… my inverter is supposed to max out at 75a anyway and 100a was the largest I could get for $18 This may be pushing the ampacity of 4awg a bit so I might lower it later not sure

I guess you have to take it with a grain of salt because it’s focused on 12v and in the French blog section of their website.. but there’s a little chart that seems to correspond with the little I could find about the jbd bms model...

I feel like eBay doesn’t allow brand new accounts to get those coupons but maybe I’m wrong. It’s been a long time since I was hard up enough to create burner accounts. That said, anyone interested in doing so could start seasoning several burner accounts today so they are ready to go next time
  • Post in thread: Cheapest 48v 50ah battery I've found so far. $409.99 free shipping

I just ordered a 1 and a 2 pack. I paid like $30 more for the convenience I guess. I thought I saw presidents coupon was only good for two uses anyway so I wouldn’t be able to buy three singles

So I did a very rudimentary capacity test on one of my units. I don’t have any special equipment for a better job such as shunt, clamp meter, or 60v bench power supply. I initially charged to 58.4 several times trying out different settings on the growatt/rs. It seems like I didn’t do a full...
  • Post in thread: Peak vs. continuous power (Enphase)

Not sure what your point is, power factor cannot be greater than 1. Are you implying that enphase reports apparent power not real power? The units in my monitoring app show watts not VA. So for example I see 291-298 watts for at least an hour in the enphase monitoring page, which is > 290 VA …...
  • Post in thread: Cheapest 48v 50ah battery I've found so far. $409.99 free shipping

Hey I also bought the “last one” funny how that works Does eveyone who bought the “last one” want to set up a group chat to figure out custody arrangements? I’m thinking of adding a 60a marine terminal fuse internally on this. Although I’d also like a disconnect. Is that a decent idea or...

  • Post in thread: Cheapest 48v 50ah battery I've found so far. $409.99 free shipping

Typically not on issue to orient the cells sideways and they appear well restrained in the photos. That said I can’t point to anything from the manufacturer Fwiw I picked up a rich solar 3000 watt inverter I got for around $400 shipped. Seemed like a decent deal… if anyone is interested they...

hmm... the dc house is $5 cheaper than the eco worthy
  • Post in thread: Using off-brand batteries with a Pecron E1500LFP: A build log

There's supposed to be an E3600LFP coming out soon... perfect for hitting that tax credit (if installed to house) while still remaining portable. Alas, I am not in the market for one anymore after I dove into cheaper semi-DIY options.
  • Post in thread: Using off-brand batteries with a Pecron E1500LFP: A build log

Sadly I haven’t heard any new rumors for months. If you google it you can find some foreign language spec sheets online but that’s about it. So who knows when they will ship it?
  • Post in thread: Peak vs. continuous power (Enphase)

Can anyone help me understand the enphase spec for peak vs. continuous output? I have IQ8+ microinverters but this would apply to other enphase systems. The IQ8+ has peak output of 300w and max continuous power of 290w. But I'm seeing over 290w for pretty long periods of time. So my question...
  • Post in thread: A thread on battery carts.

And by sweet I mean tight I’m about to price this out and I feel like it’s gonna hurt. Backup option is just bolt it to the wall and run a loooooong conduit
  • Post in thread: Peak vs. continuous power (Enphase)

As a follow up I’ve seen iq8+ outputting over 290w for many hours now. Yes I’m clipping pretty hard, wish had read up more on inverter sizing before I agreed to this installation plan (probably would have paid for larger inverters). Here's an example where I get 296-298 pretty continuously...
  • Post in thread: Using off-brand batteries with a Pecron E1500LFP: A build log

Yeah, I figure I need around 700w average to run "essentials" during a power outage so this is a possibility but not ideal with only the small 1.5kw pecron buffer. I can get 100-150w out of the 12v accessory port of my EV 🙄
  • Post in thread: Cheapest 48v 50ah battery I've found so far. $409.99 free shipping

The little mnedc breakers I got were on sale for $18 at Stella Volta … seemed like a good deal for what I understand are higher quality breakers. Stock looks low though Only ran the system for four hours but enough to know it basically works and I don’t have obvious defectives By the way, I...

Mine should be arriving today. Anyone interested in seeing photos of the inside, or is ecoworthy already well known here? Sorry, I dont have any deep knowledge of this forum or its practices. Should I make a new thread?
