I’m a bit concerned that my isolator switch will go up in smoke when I turn it off under load
Does the fact that those panels were short circuited make things look worse than they would normally be?
I am only connecting two 405W panels in series, what kind of PV...
I’ve been using the Seplos BMS 10E for almost one year and I’m moving the battery to a non heated room, so I want to use the heating pads that I bought with the BMS to make sure the temperature doesn’t drop too much.
In this video
they are placing the temperature sensors between the pads and...
I suspect you might need to "enable" the constant voltage phase as described in this post https://diysolarforum.com/threads/seplos-can-bus-rs485-48v-200a-8s-16s-bms.20051/post-799740
(also read the 2 pages before and after)
Disabling the alarms seems to allow the inverter to go into constant...
I’ve bought a length of 25mm2 cable and I’ve tried to crimp a connector
My crimper is metric and can be set to 50/35/25/16/10/6 mm2
The connector that came with it are AWG 4/6/8
I first tried the 25mm2 cable in one of the biggest connectors (AWG 4), set the crimper to 25, crimped it and the...
It looks like I need one or more Multiplus II and a Solar Charge controller.
So the solar charge controller will convert PV DC to 48V DC which will then be inverted by the multiplus to be consumed by the loads.
Does this mean an all in one inverter would be more efficient in using solar power...
What I meant asking was: a grid tied system with dead battery and no PV porduction will work the same as if the inverter wasn't there (as it's connected in parallel): all energy is going from the grid to the loads with no losses
With an off-grid inverter in the same situation (dead battery and...
I was trying to discharge the battery copletely after faking the capacity from 280Ah to 400Ah
It stopped discharging at an indicated 34.3%, (which should correspond to ~5% in reality considering the real 280Ah) shortly after displaying the "monomer low pressure alarm" (2.9V); however my...
Do you think the Lynx distributor is useful?
What’s the advantage over paralleling the connectors on a pair of busbars or just at the inverter terminals?
I’ve just received this BMS, however it only has two connectors for B- and two for C-
The shop and the manual pictures show 3 of each
Is this an issue?
I had the same problem a few days ago after a year of 100% reliability.
It started working again after disconnecting the bms from the battery and reconnecting it.
Someone on here suggested getting the latest firmware from Seplos which apparently solves the problem. Reading this discussion, I’m...
A grade Eve LF280K (the ones with the double stud terminals), 80 cycles, they were in line after top balancing
I suspect a very low ‘equalisation voltage’ took them out of balance
But I might not get into the balancing stage (I’ve set balancing voltage over 3.45V).
At the moment it stays over 55.2V (3.45V per cell) for only one minute before reaching 99.5%. My active balancer only stays active for one minute per day and it’s not going to do much.
I have a Seplos BMS 100A, new version 10E
This bms considers 100% when the single cell overvoltage protection or the total voltage overvoltage protection is triggered
I have these set to 3.5V and 56V respectively
Today I started charging when I was at 80% at 50A; after 1 hour the voltage was...
The data shows it drops to 10A, which at ~54V is 500W for almost an hour; where is this 0.5kWh going? Should I set the inverter to stop charging around 95%?
After two days of trying, I’ve realised I’ve been sold a bms without the heating connector and I was connecting the pads to the external switch connector which looks exactly the same
Any details on the components I need to buy?
I am not sure; you can connect up to 800W of ‘plug&play’ solar panels (microinverters with no export limit) by just informing the distribution network. There isn’t any legislation for pure off-grid as most systems are grid tie.
Off grid with ‘zero export’ seems to be a grey area where most...
Could it be than when I slide the rubber bit over the crimped connector I am bending the metal teeth enough for them not to grip?
I have tried to remember to do it before and that one seems to hold
I have found some solar panels on ebay, Trina 540W for £80 (offers accepted)
The seller says they are solid on the front, cracked on the rear but 100% working.
Is this a good buy?
What are people’s experience with the bluetooth connection to the app? I find that (at least on my iPhone 12), I need to be right in front of the BMS for the bluetooth to connect. When I’m in a adjacent room, it’s already a challenge.
If I set it to ‘default’ I have the option to specify these parameters which have these default values and minimum allowed to be set
Low V protection 44V - 42.5V
Min discharge V 46V - 43.5V
Empty discharged 46.7V - 42.5V
The ‘total_voltage undervoltage protection’ on the bms is set to 43.2V...
