So I changed settings and only went with a 5A charge voltage for most of the morning, packs responded well. I’ll probably cycle it a few times like this. I just bumped it up to 10A and will monitor it for a bit and see how it responds.
Well, got an update!
Did some load testing yesterday and later in the evening, the replacement dongle that Jared had sent out came in.
First off load testing went great. I even got it to run my 2T AC unit after I shut everything else off and then powered it back on after the AC was running...
Here’s a question:
The dongle connect page references a BAXXXX- number.
My dongle SN is BJ40171898
Any chance it’s the wrong dongle or something isn’t right with the system setup?
I’m wondering if the BA/BJ SN’s are the issue? I still have local connect though and still can’t get...
As mentioned, many companies go through growing pains….
It’s how they address those issues which sets them apart. I’ve had a handful of small issues (defective wifi dongle) and some battery balancing issues. Tech support stayed on the phone for WAY longer then I could have imagined going over...
So far it’s ironing itself out. I discharge nightly and usually use a 125A charge until I hit around 90% (per BMS). I then drop the charge current down to between 10-20A and since doing that, I haven’t hit overvolt warning or protection again. This process is just taking awhile lol. Deltas have...
JK lol, I didn’t move fast enough last time and didn’t do a peak hold. It pulled 30.52A for about a second, then dropped to 9.39 and was running steadily at 8.5ish.
Based on those numbers and seeing the testing done the EG4 6000XP will be just fine!
My bad lol
So, here’s my setup:
5.5kw solar
24kwh batteries
6K XP
During the day I’m in a surplus of PV input, loads are usually 1-1.5kw, batteries are usually charged by 10-11AM if sun is decent.
Loads at night start around 1.1kw, drop down to around 500w by 9pm and then get as low as 190w.
I usually...
Hey all! So, I got my system up and running but definitely have some questions on settings.
I have my Victron 712 BMV setup, just changed the parameters for the 48v system.
Here’s the issues I’ve encountered, hopefully y’all have some input:
1) I need a “customer code” to register for EG...
Thanks! I have a secondary setup as a “mobile” option with Victron 250/70 that I’ll probably hook up and can use my smart shunt to monitor. That’ll keep it in float and I’ll run the inverter every now and then to cycle them a bit.
Space isn’t too big an issue, the 6 slot should work well. I’m just worried about updating the firmware when I get them tomorrow! I also do like the idea of being able to move the cabinet around a bit if need be and the ability to expand.
I may take a look at that was well. My IT buddy said he’d stop by and take a look at my router, he said often there’s options to “unlock” the 2.4 settings as well. If not, I’ll try that route and see if it’ll work.
I also have a Verizon hot spot I may try to play around with.
10 amps worked well, I’m seeing about 1.6-2.xA per cell.
I’m still not getting above 3.3x ball park. I’m gonna try and charge at 55v/25A tomorrow. I’ll run the bank down a bit tonight.
So the skids are mounted on casters. I put a few stabilizing posts and quite a few tie downs.
It’s a similar concept to other skids I made previously, these are a little more robust. The other skids were cheaper and did well even in 60+ mph wind gusts where I’m at so we’ll see how these do lol...
Ok, I’ll try to line this out as clearly as possible but….I was a Marine so, little uhhh…I’m a little slow lol.
Ok, 6000XP: unit was originally commissioned with AGM batteries, dude great minus SOC discrepancies with that setup.
4/28: I got (2), lifepower 4’s, updated firmware with the...
You are correct lol. They’re also reasonably priced for sure.
The only benefit to going the server rack is I have a line on a 6 slot and 2 Lifepower 4’s for a good price.
Awesome post and info. My XP will be here in a week or two, this will be my first setup that won’t be completely off grid. I’m sure I’ll have tons of questions trying to get this thing setup, I love the bypass idea and let the PV charge the batteries back up.
I just need better batteries now...
Thanks! I’m wondering if it’s worth the buy as a spare/backup unit. I run the 6K XP primary but if I can get this for 700 or so, it may be a decent backup option.
Ok, update!
Finishing the last skid right now, the final (for now lol) will be:
8S ZN shine 370w panels for PV1 input
7s ZN shine 370w panels for PV2 input
5.5kw input for the XP.
I also have the chance to buy a MPP Solar Hybrid LV6048 for $800. I’m really considering doing this as a...
So discharged the bank a bit more lastnight. They discharged unevenly for sure, I set charging amps to 5 for it to come back up.
That was at the end or close to the end of discharge after lastnight. No chargeverter yet, it’s ordered but waiting for the next ship date. I’ve just been charging...
So I’m potentially working a deal for some new, 2yr old EG4 Lifepower server rack batteries. She has 2 plus the 6 rack server, if I go that route I plan on snagging a 3rd pretty quick from signature.
My other though process is the EG4 indoor wall mount or, the Ruixu 16kwh.
I’m just not sure...
Yeah, just the SOC difference and why one or 2 is getting drug down more than the others. It sounds like that might be normal though so no biggie there.
The Deltas are looking much better, still getting Overvoltage alarm and protection mode around 3.4xV per cell which seems off, but I’m...
