Did you ever find out the issue ?
Do you still have the unit.. I do electronics work.. maybe i could check it out for you..
You just pay the shipping..If i can't fix it,,, no charge.. If i can, i'll tell you 1st..
I like a challenge.
Well, I did it..
I went this weekend and got the panels. and i was able able to haul all 19 of them in my van.
On the way home the bottom fell out of the sky, torrential down pour 10 min into the ride home, and all the way til i got almost home.
It was the worst storm i ever drove in, Was like...
Yes, I did.. yesterday,, but shipping them was a real hassle..
Had to take them to UPS Freight depot.. you can't just take them to the local UPS depot.
Also if you don't have a ups account, it'll cost you like hell to send.
They quoted me over 600.00...
I got lucky. I was able to share some...
The system I am installing will be isolated from the house except for charging the batteries if there isn't enough sun for a few days.
The local municipality power co. here does not condone solar.. I fought to get grid tied, and i even got onto a incentive program that paid me 15 cents a Kw...
i'd be happy to see something like a pick and drop, so you can kinda show what you got going on, rather than a scribbling on paper, then scan it to here..
Pick , drop, rotate, connect lines etc.
OK UPDATE TIME >>> I got things fixed finally..But i don't know why or how it got messed up in the 1st place..
China Tech support finally replied.. I had to right click the program icon and go into properties and select Compatibility mode.
This fixed the issue.. now it works good..
I also had a...
Well, lookie what came in the mailbox this afternoon..
Obviously these came in from China, but this puzzles me,,, the box has a california address.. Hmmmm
I figured it out,, the solar panel is actually bad.. low voltage under load.. reads 5v when it should be at least 17VOC
reads 5.6 with 1 watt load..and it's a 10 W panel.. I tried another panel, only 5W and it worked.. I ordered the proper panel for the unit..
Cool.. so i have better panels than i thought..
I started using a few of the Canadian panels I got,, built me a home made rack out of salvaged sign post tubing.
I'll post pictures in a bit..
ok,, repairs are made... replaced both transistors with a single transistor.
I used a generic ECG393 this is strong enough to run 6 fans..lol
during spare time at work, I will start on a small thermal control circuit to control some other fans
I'm using to help keep the transformer cool.. so...
Nom. voltage per cell is 3.7v and 4.2vpc max.
here is one of the pages from BHU. They are only selling single batteries now, But i had bought a complete car module last year.
Trunk , tunnel and hood module...
Ok , Problem found,, I dug out my sillyscope, I have determined that the 2 transistors are open..
the base is 162mv when off and 5v when on. And I can jump the emitter and collector and the fan will turn on..
So, I'm gonna find a beefier single transistor to replace it with..
J10 is where the...
Update >>> I finally got the replacement board for my controller.. I thought the board was just for communication. turns out it is also the Main CPU board. I was told that this would be an easy repair job.. Nooooooooo
when i got the board, it looked like it'd be a plug n play. Nooooooooo
Had to...
Update on this charge controller, it's doing quite well with the fan mod.. I'm getting great charges per day, over 3,000wh a day, it keeps my 200ah bank charged up just fine. Might add in another more batteries, just to give me more reserve. 3,175wh is my highest charge to date..
The only...
Murphyguy >> I know all about how loud them contactors are when they engage.
I maintain hiway HI-Mast lighting, and the control box can have up to 6 contactors in them, and they almost sound like a car crash when they turn on..
BANG! let there be light....lol
My utility here is a joke also...
I have BMW Batteries that use the NMC cells.
I'm on the fence about Min / Max voltage settings
I'm using these batteries in a 14s setup for a 48v system
I found out my Solar charge controller isn't as user friendly as i thought. ( Epever AN6415 )
I know i'll need to use the USER settings...
Has there been a fix for this yet ?? I have 3 older units, they are steady amps... I just fired up 3 new ones,,All same settings as old ones.. and the amps jump all over the place... What's going on...
here is something to consider,, refrigerators all have defrost cycles they go thru.. . usually 2x a day.. the defrost circuit can draw a lot of power, because it's a heater... maybe this is a cause??
I do know the defrost uses more power than the compressor..
But i too am thinking a possible...
I found a fix.. there is a set of terminals to connect to, Voltage sense , I connected to thoes and the buss bar, and now voltage reads within 0.1V or less.. The other unit doesn't need this. only the one i repaired with uncalibrated factory board.
So all is good now.. I have my CC set to...
I don't have any other devices, other than my laptop, and it does not have BT...
Maybe i'll wait til my buddy comes back over, and i'll try his phone and see what happens.
you should be able to get any electrician to do the job..
everything needs to be properly grounded, , there needs to be a disconnect box between inverter and the meter base. and has to be easily accessible to turn off..
is this going to be a NET METERING, or wholesale solar?
my power co. they...
The thing was, i have 2 USB RS485 adapters that came with the units. As it was, one was COM3, the other was COM4. and after all this farting around for hours on end i discover that one of them is bad.. I thought it'd be easy to just leave them connected to the CC, so in case I ever wanted to...
Well i just got a reply back from REC. They didn't seem to be of much help.. I told them what i wanted to do,, and this was their reply....
Dear Dacflyer,
We are not familiar with EPEVER and the BMS cannot communicate with this inverter, but anyway you can use it for cell's monitoring.
Best...
I'm working on another battery project. I had acquired for cheap 8x 12s BMW batteries, I think they came from an I3?
Anyway I need 14s packs to match my other BMW Batteries ( 14s system ) I've decided to disassemble 1 pack to gain 6x 2s packs, then add them to the 12s packs I have, then i'd have...
