NOTE: Using this thread to track progress on tweaking LV2424 settings so that hopefully, in the future, someone with an LV2424 or similar MPP Solar inverter can benefit from it.

We need "overly complicated" to discover new ways of solving problems. We can then incorporate those solutions into automated optimizations, which will make it dead simple for end-users. Innovation requires stretching the limits of what we think we can do, and trying different things.
It's...
The word "stealing" has never truly applied to IP law. The legal word is "infringe".
If someone steals your bike, you no longer have a bike, and they have a bike. But, if they create a copy of your bike, you still have your bike. They didn't steal your bike. They simply copied it.
The...
The reason I like, support and trust @Will Prowse is because, to my knowledge, he has been transparent and honest. I have zero problem with him increasing profit from the forum increasing traffic to affiliate links. This doesn't mean there aren't other benevolent reasons for creating the...
I personally choose to avoid left vs right debates. It's an imposed polarization that just avoids objectively discussing real issues. Nearly all camps have humans, and thus corruption.
@JeepHammer I could not confirm Rick Perry saying that. Do you have a link to a quote? I could confirm...
OK, this is my new guidance for the Solar power priority setting if you are trying to avoid using AC to charge the batteries, yet are using AC to augment the load, and want to maintain a high SoC overall as a UPS.
To keep it simple, I'll just state this if you are setting it for the next 24...
I've been testing with my 100W, taking it out on occasion and bringing back in by the end of the day. I have the 320Ws, but I don't want to carry them in and out to test. So, they are safe until I build a mount for them. I set the 100W on the ground and prop up with a chair, the arms holding...
Batteries have a ROI? lol
100% of the financial ROI comes from the PV. The batteries are a pure cost. You can, however, try to determine which battery has the lowest cost over a time frame like 10 years. Lithium is winning that battle.
Intangible returns include: ability to consume more...
Very good conversation with input from great minds! The only thing I'd restate just to clarify what was said is:
Chassis-Return: using the chassis as a bus for the primary circuit should only be considered for low voltage applications, typically no higher than 24V, due to shock hazard. This is...
UPDATE: I switched the Charger source priority setting from Solar only to Solar first. When I had Solar only, it did not kick on AC charging even during the window that I have set. But, with Solar first, it kicked on when the 1hr window I have set came around.
I'm really trying to avoid AC...
I learned a lot from a lot of people, but no one more than @JeepHammer . He is loaded with insight and wisdom from years of hands on learning as he milks the free tuition of the School of Hard Knocks.
Of course, learned a lot in the beginning and inspired by @Will Prowse . I never miss a video.
I'm 100% with you. The principles I learned sky diving and trading apply to all walks of life. I can sum up why you are right.
You understand risk management, which is completely different from risk avoidance. You have very realistic expectations with incredible aspirations you, your...
NEWS: DIY Clan Leads to Tennessee Walmart Blackout
Walmart's power was out for 20 minutes, creating panic in the store. One witness said right before the power went out they saw a couple people with "DIY Solar" shirts kneeling behind the store model of a fridge. "Sparks flew out from behind...
All batteries should be measured in hot tub hours.
If you know how many watt hours (WH) a battery stores, and you know the average WH of your hot tub, you can now compare in terms of critical load.
Impartial in what way? They report. They don't mediate or judge.
What you file will be public. It's a centralized location to find public filings and statistics. That's it. It impartially publishes your filing. There is no subjectivity in its process.
UPDATE: I found a configuration that seems to really minimize battery discharge. The only downside is it really really wants to keep charging it until the end of time. So, not done tweaking.
Also, there does not seem to be a way to prevent AC charging with the Solar first setting. But, you...
I've always wondered about those little islands that no one lives on. Yeah, they are undoubtedly ravished in a storm. But, could part of it be the economics of moving diesel onto it?
If so, then does solar mean we can build homes on more islands now? Anyone up for New Island Live TV Series...
I presume that is for @Ckrane ... but can't help but comment on it....
USB on my small setup controller is only 2.1A... slow charging. So I wired a socket and got a high speed plug with USB A and C. But, now I primarily charge via the 120V adaptors cuz my main inverter will complement with...

The wiki is a great idea. Yeah, I heard the argument that the forum is better for helping beginners. But, one thing is clear and that many of us go beyond the basics and lack references. We get tired of posting questions because it just doesn't work for many things. Why don't we have a parts...
@SCClockDr We are here because we love DIY. DIY is not an acronym for hoping to accomplish anything meaningful in the context of slutbagonomics. It is a means to try to create a little man cave to escape crony capitalism and other means to justify higher taxes and utility passed regulatory...
The PDF he links to has two model numbers, but the specs don't match what is on the EVWest description. The image on EVWest, if you zoom in, matches the specs on their site:
I couldn't find crap online for this model, and I bet they coudn't either.
Given that the site specs look correct...
