Hello gnubie and b.james This is my last 3 month bill. I have since changed plans so wait and see, hopefully it will be similar. I'm with AGL Our average daily use is approx 8kWh (2 people). For approx $1000.00 AUD it's hard to justify adding more solar Guy

  • Post in thread: Australia on top

I saw comments that we had problems with mounting panels etc. due to Australia being at the bottom of the world. This map should clarify the situation Australia on top

  • Post in thread: Gidday from Queensland Australia

Hi Will. You are my go for solar. I've learnt more from you in the last few years than in my 60 something years. Thank you. The only solar I have is 2.4KW grid feed in system. In Queensland the solar/grid system is highly controlled by the state government. Still hope springs eternal. I have a...

Following the above advice. My main concern is, are my maths correct? Using 4-24v 250W solar panels Voc 37.9V Isc 8.65A These are my results 1) Series connect: 151.6V 8.65A Voltage too high for Victron MPPT 2) Parallel connect: 37.9V 34.9A Too large a wire size required 3) 2S2P connect: 75.8V...

  • Post in thread: LiFePO4 planning

Thank you gnubie Is there some where I can calculate the wire size from the panel to the MPPT, or just base the wire size on using 24V sizes

  • Post in thread: LiFePO4 planning

Thank you svetv. I'll will look for low Pmax panels. I agree the fridge idea is not my finest hour, back to the drawing board. As regards the breaker from panels to the MPPT this may be the solution Breaker

  • Post in thread: 8s BMS thats reliable and affordable?

Hi Newenough I watched this video this morning which I thought was very interesting GreatScott. He is in Germany, I assume the BMS and their other components could be posted world wide. This equates to $220.00 Australian for the BMS, very expensive but the unit itself may be what your looking for
