Hello gnubie and b.james
This is my last 3 month bill. I have since changed plans so wait and see, hopefully it will be similar. I'm with AGL
Our average daily use is approx 8kWh (2 people). For approx $1000.00 AUD it's hard to justify adding more solar
Guy
I saw comments that we had problems with mounting panels etc. due to Australia being at the bottom of the world. This map should clarify the situation

Hi Will. You are my go for solar. I've learnt more from you in the last few years than in my 60 something years. Thank you.
The only solar I have is 2.4KW grid feed in system. In Queensland the solar/grid system is highly controlled by the state government.
Still hope springs eternal. I have a...
Following the above advice. My main concern is, are my maths correct?
Using 4-24v 250W solar panels
Voc 37.9V
Isc 8.65A
These are my results
1) Series connect: 151.6V 8.65A Voltage too high for Victron MPPT
2) Parallel connect: 37.9V 34.9A Too large a wire size required
3) 2S2P connect: 75.8V...
I thought this may be of interest. Lithium Australia has some patents on new technology.
Somewhere in the forum I had read about DLG batteries
Lithium Australia

Solar panels 4-24V 250W in parallel
Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/50
LiFePO4 battery (8x120A)
As per Will's DIY LiFePO4 instructions
I have read Will's book (thank you Will) and watched the videos several times.
1) I have read/seen somewhere "LiFePO4 batteries do not require a float when fully...
Thank you svetv. I'll will look for low Pmax panels. I agree the fridge idea is not my finest hour, back to the drawing board.
As regards the breaker from panels to the MPPT this may be the solution Breaker
I haven't been to this shop to check quality etc, tho it may be worth a look. The wire prices seem a bit on the cheap side? I don't know there shipping costs either

Hi Newenough
I watched this video this morning which I thought was very interesting GreatScott. He is in Germany, I assume the BMS and their other components could be posted world wide. This equates to $220.00 Australian for the BMS, very expensive but the unit itself may be what your looking for
Thank you gnubie and chi. I was off to a bad start, back to the spreadsheet to get the correct panel configuration. I've used the Vmp and Imp, when I should use Voc and Isc
