Well I did get a stable 3.5 vpc after power was removed. However, as soon as my load got turned on, the cell voltage dove down to 3.3 - 3.4 in literally minutes. So I conclude that other than top balancing there is not much point to go up to 3.5+ vpc. Would you agree?
Oh wow. You said: "We are really talking about scenarios during initial setup/testing. I would't look to a RC style charger for any type of permanent setup. " So what would be chargers to match the afore mentioned power supplies for a permanent setup charging 24 v BYD batteries with four or...
The ISDT T8 balance charger is the only one that I know of that can be used for automatic top balancing of LFP batteries. You set the HVC and it just grinds away, in my case for 28 hrs, charging up one cell at a time to the HVC level and keeps the cells there. In contrast, my prior charge...
Thanks so much, DarkStar. That is way cool. Great videos also. I like the different charging method your T8 and Q8 charger uses. The ToolkitRC just stops charging once once the first cell reaches the HVC level. It makes way more sense for a charger to hold the cell that reaches 3.6 v first...
KBWaldron: have you made any more progress on your plans of Nov. 20. Your plans make much more sense to me now after a month of learning. Your plan to tie each corresponding cell together is the same idea that David Poz is using in his recent video. But OMG all those wires make my head hurt...
As an electrical novice, wire sizing has been one of the things I have paid a lot of attention to in my internet research. I have not used scientific data sources for this research, but have relied on "apparently reputable" company sources. Can anyone explain these confusing results?

Thanks for all the excellent information on the Chargery BMS. I have watched the vids and read the manual from chargery. Non of this material mentions how a solar charge controller works with the Chargery BMS. How is such a solar charge controller connected to the Chargery BMS? What happens...
