I Will see if I can find it. About to board a plane. I remember it was a video of a guy reviewing solar panels (an installer) but I will try to dig it up.
Fortunately, I have a standing seam metal roof, and they make these cool attachments for solar panels that don't even penetrate, and use the seams as the rails, or as mounts for solar rails, you can do it either way.
Hey I am sorry, I just noticed you were asking if it is split phase. It is not. The split phase version of this is the Solark 15k which is also UL listed and includes a breaker on the Grid input. It's also a lot more moolah. The Deye 16k will need a autotransformer or isolation transformer...
Yes, GSL is different from Meritsun which is different from Felicity. All are options, with Felicity being the cheapest, Meritsun being the most expensive, and GSL somewhere in the middle from what I have been quoted. Meritsun with shipping and duties was just as expensive as signaturesolar...
Just was reading another thread of solving ground/neutral bonding issues with some of the less expensive AIO units, and thought this might be a decent idea for those out there using these offgrid units but still wanting the utility for times of low battery/solar production…
So what if you keep...
DISCLAIMER DO NOT DO THIS:
I dunno if it would be enough to generate current (you should only need voltage) but a benchtop power supply plugged into the battery input of a cheapass inverter, and then AC from that cheapass inverter output to the AC input of your 6000watt
I have a question for those using their 6000xp (or xp’s) as the grid input for their 18kpv:
since even in a non-export mode, brief pulses of power will backfeed into the AC output of the 6000xp when a large load turns off in the house, can this damage the 6000xp(s)?
That's really cool, and I think you did the right thing by hiring a professional. I do that sometimes, but I stick around and bug them with a ton of questions so I can learn every time I hire a job out. Great news it's running again for you!
