Shurflo 2088 will turn on when water line pressure drops below 35 psi and will turn off when water pressure reaches 45 psi. It will run for...
My new system, in use 1/2 day:
2 Newpowa 100 watt panels 44x20'
1 Mppt charge controller 40 amp
1 Gel deep cycle battery 12v 150AH
Standard size wires and waterproof connectors. Panels are mounted on top of an old water tank with the filling hole in the top open for a vent (not shown open in pic...
I see some skepticism and encouraging hopefullness. Ok, I will report back when I actually do it. I have ten years experience running Shurflo 2088 12 volt pumps to supply household pressure in a 1000 sq. foot mfg home. I have a bunch of these pumps, have sold them to neighbors who needed to...
I use only Shurflo RV style pumps and I install water systems for people who want to move community water up a mountain to rural homesites. Yes they can run dry for six hours no problem. Someone let one run dry for a week and fried it. They have to be plumbed in a box or under a roof as they are...
Dankoff pumps, whose website claims they run without batteries, cost $1100 to $1600. A Shurflo 2088 is $75 on Amazon. I've run Shurflo 2088 for 13 years. I have built systems for two of my neighbors using them too. They're my favorite. They pressurize a 50 liter bladder tank in a few minutes and...
My beginner's brain is thinking that if current gets too high in that open circuit it could fry something like my pump motor. I ordered a controller like Grampa recommended above. I was hoping that would be sufficient.
It is not that I don't believe you. I just don't understand what you are saying I should do. I am not experienced in using panels without a battery but I read a little bit of people doing it. What is a buck converter? And what kind of load is being recommended specifically, a second motor when I...
Thanks Hogheaven. I would have to remake my cable ends if I do that. I don't know how to do that without buying a connector tool. Probably easier to make buss bars.
Cool! I run Shurflo pumps for outdoor applications (just keep a roof over as they're indoor non waterproof pump motor cases). I have a question: It sounds like you are using the Shurflo 4009 without a battery, correct? How does that work? Is there a way to make it automatic so it runs only when...
"Typically, the panels should be oversized to the load for better running time." Please recommend me a panel output to shoot for. The pump is a Shutflo 2088 series, 12 volt DC and it calls for a 6amp slow-blo fuse.
I am going to repost this in equipment reviews along with the photos. I think a lot of people don't know EverExceed exists, and their equipment is top notch. They now have LiFePo4 all in one integrated systems with mppt controller and inverter all for really good prices.
All basically the same. All put out 3-4 gallons per minute. The one in the foto calls for an 1.5 amp "slow blow" fuse, .9 amps current (current draw? See photo). Low power consumption whether 12 volt dc or 115 ac. This is one I am running off my inverter (photo).
No, the output pipe is plastic. Sounds like I am pretty good to go, I will leave it all sealed up (and skip the breaker :) ). Too much work to go back in there. At least it is "out there", not attached to my house. (We live in a dangerous world down here in Costa Rica. The power tools and...
I need to test it and cant find my meter today! But the charge controller reads 12.9 battery (150ah) even after a completely cloudy day and much pumping. I'm thinking I could add another pump to the line 120 feet away.
The wires are fat, any fatter and they won't fit in my charge controller, and I have heard EverExceed MPPT charge controllers are very large. I would like to clean it up with buss bars. Not sure where to buy stock. What dimensions do I look for?
This seems like the answer to my problem also. But several of the links are for foreign countries. I need one in the USA. There is one for Amazon (USA) below but reviewers say it is noisy and doesn't always work, and that Square D is better. I need something to shut off a Shurflo 12 v water...
I'm fairly new to solar. What happens when panels go 'open circuit' ? Also how do I connect a little panel with a bigger one as you describe and what would that do? What kind of load do I need and again, how to hook it up, to one small panel or the big and the small?
Specific to your question though, the 115 volt ac available at the pump is shared with the grid. I turn the grid on sometimes and then off for using inverted solar ac power. I now want to use the grid for a business, isolating it from my house systems, gone completely solar on the house (trying...
