Our system consists of a a (8) 475W bifacial panels, a 48V LFP battery, a Victron Quattro 48/5000/70 an MPPT 250/100 and a Cerbo GX.
Once final installation of our off grid solar system takes place I would like to power Starlink directly from our 48V LFP battery. I would like to add a Dishypowa...
I ordered a couple of Flatpacks and they arrived today. Looks like the seller has recently upped the price to $60. I also ordered similar power boards from the same guy in Lithuania. I read and reread the Flatpack thread at Endless Sphere that @42OhmsPA posted. Your cheat sheet will make...
I'm gathering parts and waiting to open up camp :) Once my solar install is complete. I will attempt a DC to DC conversion and eliminate the SL router completely. I plan to replace it with a DC powered travel router.
I believe the manufacture gets away with lighter cabling on the BMS due to it's 200°C insulation rating. This rating is what I am concerned about maintaining. Likely just over analyzing and over thinking it but I'll likely get some PTFE heatshrink anyway.
Got a 48v 280ah battery to build for an off grid setup i plan to build when all the parts arrive. I will install heating pads somewhere as well. Need a circuit to supply power to heating pads only when an external power source is present such as geanerator or PV. Looks like some great workmaship...
Hello, everyone. Three weeks ago I knew nothing about solar. I've been racking my brain trying to become educated as best as possible. Just when I think I've got it all figured out I realize my setup will not work as I need it to or that there is a better way. I would like to install a DIY...
Maybe they had trouble finding a fuse ?
My knowledge of fusing is limited. The only thing I know about class T fuses is that I've got one close to the positive terminal of my battery.
Well I sure hope nothing bursts into flames. I was thinking a backer may help prevent that.
I've got an 8" exhaust fan that will certainly act as a flue. Damn now i'm starting to think fire supression! Lol.
Still feeling like a little cement board might be a good idea but i am hearing you...
280W yes room for boot up and snow melt.
Spent quite a bit of time researching fuses and came up with absolutely nothing. Not sure why smaller fuses above 32V are non existent?
I ran out of time researching and wanted it up and running so I did the install without any OCP. I do have plans to...
I don't think you will be disappointed with the download speeds. The service has been very consistent over the past two years for my parents at their cabin in the next bay (they have hydro). Nothing to really complain about on our end either, fire up the genny and we are online in a minute or...
You may get away without one but I can't say for sure. I had reached out to the owner of the company that produces the Yaosheng. He recommended stabalizing the voltage. I didn't want to risk frying anything so I went with it.
I've got a DC energy meter installed ~60W is a rough estimate. That...
Yes it has been working great so far. I used the Orion-Tr48/48-6 to stablaize power and ended up purchasing the Yaosheng POE injector instead.

I am currently commissioning a Quattro 48/5000/70 single phase unit and a 280ah home made battery before moving everything to a cabin in the woods.
The only thing hooked into the L1 out are three recepticals with NO load and a lightning arrestor (which was removed for testing purposes).
The...
If you use a Victron 48V DC Converter you can convert your fluctuating voltage to 56V AND use the on/off relay function
Meanwell also sells a 48VDC converter a lot of people are using. I believe you can crank it up to ~57VDC. Not sure if it has a relay.
There is also this type of relay...
You are probably right.
I went through the BMS parameter settings, Overkill manual and the manual specific to my model JBD-AP20S003S. Unfortunately I found no documentation or settings regarding a over temp impending alarm.
BMS battery temp is 29.4C right now. As a test I tried lowering the...
Think I used 16awg. I tried ferrules but they were too thick. The fork connectors I had were a bit too wide so I ended up clipping one of the legs off.
