  • Post in thread: I keep reading that Lithium battery prices are falling rapidly,...but Battle Born battery prices never change. Why?

just to chime in battleborn sent me a replacement after sending them a failed unit after 8 months of use, and covered the shipping costs. I found the service much better to deal with vs my alibaba and the 40 thieves adventures. Worth the extra $200-300? in my use case yes, but I also like to...
  • Post in thread: Leaking Electrolyte from Bigbattery Powerblock

I bet we see changes with this product even with tech club direct / big battery failing to say ya our bad this is not the best build we could make. @HighTechLab should have added in your post you are also compensated by tech club direct / big battery
  • Post in thread: I'm not smart enough to understand what this is, but it looks super interesting (ElectroDacus SBMS)

Yes this is a great product got one during the crowd funding, I got the larger unit with thermal controller but I have not got a chance to build the project I want for it. Using the thermal controller to heat water and a cement slab. EVERYONE here should check out this guys users manuals. Some...
  • Post in thread: Just ran across this deal on Bluetti

This was sent to me back in May, pre new China tariffs. wholesale prices, self importation.
  • Post in thread: Cheap 4kwh LiFePO4 batteries from Battery Hookup

One of the best (read cheap) outdoor boxes I've seen was a broken ice chest like in the front of gas stations that hold bags of ice for sale. Nice big weatherproof insulated boxes.
  • Post in thread: BYD 24V LiFePo4 Battery Modules

Some of the BYD packs have different cell manufacturing types. left cells from 2014-early15 right 2016 cell and data stamps on plastics. Also note PCB sensor board change. This pack came with a pure passiv bms on it. just reading data.]] Edit: this newer pack the voltage temp/senor differs vs...
  • Post in thread: BigBattery Reputation?

Only downside would be balancing. ANYONE with these cells check internal resistance.
  • Post in thread: I am removing the Li-ion 48V Bigbattery.com pack from my recommendation list

As he has done in the past along with other users here. He needs to just blacklist this vendor. "There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again." George W. Bush
  • Post in thread: Solar Generator Crowdfunding

I told the forum long ago Bluetti is just an importer and makes no products.... Hardware VC money now DEMANDs crowd funding to gauge levels of demand.

  • Post in thread: Putting solar trailer to use

Solar trailer from DC systems auction. Using to cut up an old trailer to use as a bridge on my property. If you see the DC systems auctions again JUMP ON THEM. Batts might be toast but everything else is good.
  • Post in thread: Why a Shed? Shipping Container - My Off Grid Adventure [Migrated}

My little solar shed in progress is an old military film lab that used to be rolled into the back of cargo aircraft made by Goodyear aerospace. The whole thing folds up and came with a set of wheels. $800 bucks on a gov auction. only one side is folded out in the pic while I dig under it. .

  • Post in thread: Cheap 4kwh LiFePO4 batteries from Batteryclearancewarehouse

So the sticker on the side of the BYD BMS. Some of them are Active and some are Passive. Some do have a balancing board I am still looking at. It's odd because it defeats the isolation plugging in this balancing sub board. it takes external 12v to balance it wont activate on its own. So look at...
  • Post in thread: Cheap 4kwh LiFePO4 batteries from Battery Hookup

my weakest pack only seems to blow / miss about 7 ah. aka what I put in vs what I get out in a cycle, this pack has been getting daily cycled now for a few weeks. this weak pack is just doing 75ah ish per cycle. I cant put in or take any more out of it before I get cell dive or the same cell sky...
  • Post in thread: Cheap 4kwh LiFePO4 batteries from Batteryclearancewarehouse

Maast, I think to remove the green strapping would be a bad idea. The whole pack is compressed and does show sign of a little bulging. I think releasing that stress is going to cause a ton more swelling. I think davepoz has a good way of connecting all the cells in P and just attach a single...

  • Post in thread: Quoted US$34,000 for a DIFM 3.6kW system with battery backup

UniRac is the cheap end of the solar world. It used a cheap grade bolt ended up bonding to the retaining nutts for mounting panels. AKA if it was installed with a unirac product chances are your never unbolting it again. Reddit/r/solar is a GREAT place to see what installers like and dont like...
  • Post in thread: BYD 24V LiFePo4 Battery Modules

First BYD's came with BYD stickers. Now all of them have external stickers removed when shipped out. I suspect someone is not happy about this and since some cells DO show signs of heavy use. BYD pulled these packs because of problems and not some closing of a solar plant. From the 6 units I...
  • Post in thread: Cheap 4kwh LiFePO4 batteries from Batteryclearancewarehouse

FYI, the VT stands for VOLTAGE and TEMP. That is a POWERED sensor. To power the BYD BMS give it 12volt and connect to the H/L CAN it starts talking right away rs485 will also work depending on the chipset for your interface. good read for those that want to play here...
  • Post in thread: Cheap 4kwh LiFePO4 batteries from Batteryclearancewarehouse

I've got two cycles on my play pack over 175ah and I did not push them on low or high voltage.
  • Post in thread: Another Deep Cycle test on BYDs

6x I would be happy with all of them over 3kwh but as is now Im going to just write two of them off I guess and deal with just slightly under 3kwh per pack. I think I will put the bum two packs in my field and give it a bit of solar exorcism at 6kw. lets see if these things are a danger. Edit...

I got it setup on the bench working out the CAN now, Seen two versions of this BMS, David Poz sent me the other version to look at THANKS. We can at the least use it for display. 12v power in and CAN high / low. https://www.maximintegrated.com/en/products/power/MAX17830.html For my units I am...
