I got a neutron at a garage sale, and didn’t spend a dime. It was free of charge. ?
  • Post in thread: My experience with hybrid water heaters and a warning to stay away from AO Smith hybrid water heaters

Thank you for posting this. You as an HVAC tech have confirmed why I don’t ever think I’ll buy a heat pump H2O heater. First time I saw a heat pump water heater online, my thoughts after thinking “ oh nice, that’ll use less energy“ were: 1) more to go wrong 2) what a complex solution for a...
  • Post in thread: I really like the new powerpro battery..

I really don’t understand what the fixation is for some on the weight of the unit minus the cells. It’s designed to be all weather and to hold the weight and items within it safely. Outside if need be, and it has internal heaters. So do all that, have some UL cert, make it look nice, and see...

For those that do not know, Amazon Smile is a system Amazon set up whereas you as a consumer can select a charity up front when you sign up, and a small percentage of your purchase price from participating sellers will be donated to your selected charity. There is no extra cost to you. It adds...
  • Post in thread: Jakiper Customer Service

Involving the credit card co has a tendency to wake the selling company up to rattle the shipping co’s cage etc…to determine if it actually became “lost”. Sometimes you just have to be the squeeky wheel, as much as that may not be one’s preference.
  • Post in thread: EG4 Heat Pumps?

@Will Prowse did a review on the EG4 Heat Pump a few days ago. Looks like a great unit, and the ability to run AC and heat %100 off solar during the day will be awesome! I’m considering getting one this spring before summer hits, but I do really wish they came with pre charged quick connect...

  • Post in thread: The Real Reason LA port is backed up

And so it goes, on and on since 2016. Double down and make counter accusations. The cheetos faced messiah playbook. Thankfully solar prices have been dropping while prices for just about everything are rising. Anyone know why battery prices have been dropping?
  • Post in thread: EG4 mini splits...

That sucks. But unlike in playground sports, in some cases it is better to be picked last… rather than sooner.

  • Post in thread: The Real Reason LA port is backed up

And I’m tired of certain types with an agenda making implied or overt statements that the current administration is somehow at fault for a worldwide supply chain disruption and national transportation crisis. Newsflash… there were months long delays for many products (as well as product...
  • Post in thread: Aosmith hybrid water heaters wasted $

Seems to me using a heat pump is a complex solution to a simple task. Efficient maybe, but expensive and more to go wrong. And expensive to repair. Is there something wrong with more solar (if possible) and a simple heating element(s) water heater, and using small point of use H2O heaters?
  • Post in thread: EG4 Heat Pumps?

There are are +’s and -‘s to both options. But I do like redundancy. But I do like redundancy.
  • Post in thread: Battery Prices Rising - Should I buy now?

I don’t think I get your point. Are you saying because this is a diy forum everyone needs to build their own battery from components, and that buying a battery ready to go, then wiring it with the appropriate ancillary components etc isn’t worthy of a DIY forum?
  • Post in thread: Opinions on Eco-Worthy and Vestwoods 250+ah LifeP04 batteries?

So the Vestwoods 250ah battery arrived today via FedEx. I was a little concerned when I saw the box had a bit of a rough ride, but the battery ended up looking just fine. Waiting on a Victron charge controller that should arrive tomorrow and then I’ll get it charged up.

  • Post in thread: NEW Bluetti Sodium Ion Battery Power Units

I love the fact that the material is comparatively ubiquitous, which has implications for sourcing, which will hopefully compare favorably considering lithiums’ geopolitical, human exploitation and possible health aspects. But whether it can be made to have the same or better energy density...

  • Post in thread: I really like the new powerpro battery..

I’m not an electrician or fabricator either. But I know it cost money to develop things, test, get certs, and bring a product market. But it looks like you’re all set with your system, so all good. ????
  • Post in thread: The Real Reason LA port is backed up

You conveniently ignore a number of other factors. And hey guess what our air in CA is actually cleaner than it used to be even with all the fires we’ve had. admittedly it’s currently not good in the port areas due to the 80 some odd ships off shore running their bunker fuel systems for power...

Ok so he has 2275w in paneling available. I’m planning on (4) 400w panels so 1600w ideally available to run a 12kbtu. Can always add more if needed or if I add another unit (likely).
