It wouldn't be light, but I'd say 3/4" inch plywood or even 1" of plywood with a layer of cement board on top. The cement board can be found in the tile area of home improvement stores. I think it comes in 3'x5' sheets.

I would get a second 6000xp for simplicity. If adding the Grow watt I would leave coms hooked to the 6000xp and not the grow watt. I was going to do this with a 3000ehv-48 and just tack on a Victron Phoenix.

I agree. I have 24v and 48v 1200 VA Phoenix inverters. Love them! Simple hook up, just connect with blue tooth and do some simple settings and basic monitoring. Had a multi plus and just didn't have the patience and learn well(retain) to use their pc connection and honestly old school...

Thank you very much. I may end up going with The One in the end as it is probably worth it. For now the 6000xp will do I guess. I assumed that the free shipping comes around often, just wasn't sure how often. I have time on my hands now to install so that is part of my eagerness.

You are in an apartment. What kind space do you have for panels outside? Are you planning on moving anytime soon to a place with more area for panels. Seems your choke point is first budget and then maybe panel space. Route 1 is individual components. I recommend watching Will Prowses' DIY...

What is required for "commissioning?" Obviously the system would need to be up and running. This is a federal tax credit, not state, and the feds don't regulate installation at a local level. Some areas of the USA have no electrical inspections and others do. Mine does. I read the IRS...

What about a small shed just large enough for the equipment but no panels on top.. Only use is solar?
